    Digital Communications Officer

    About the Role

    BURN is looking for a Digital Communications Officer who will be responsible for developing and implementing digital strategies that promote BURN, our products, and initiatives across various online platforms. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing BURN's digital presence, engaging with stakeholders, and driving awareness about our brand.

    The ideal candidate for this role is someone with experience in digital communications, web management, social media, and UI/UX design.

    As our Digital Communications Officer, you will deliver effective communications on all projects, ideas and activities within the company, with guidance from the Head of Communications.

    You will also use data and user research analysis to measure the performance of our content and see how we can improve.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the communications team to develop an online strategy for BURN’s digital assets including creating and executing social media campaigns to support marketing and PR initiatives.
    • Develop engaging and relevant content for BURN's website, social media, blogs, and other digital channels that align with brand messaging and target audience preferences.
    • Manage and curate BURN's presence on social media platforms particularly LinkedIn to drive brand awareness and engagement.
    • Work closely with the Head of Creative and the creative team to ensure quality of ideation and creative asset execution.
    • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, including content creation, list segmentation, and analysis of campaign performance.
    • Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices and legal regulations.
    • Develop and update BURN's website content to reflect current products, events, and initiatives.
    • Monitor website performance, implement SEO best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Utilize digital analytics tools to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital communications efforts. Use data insights to optimize content and campaigns for better results.
    • Engage with online communities, industry influencers, and partners to expand BURN's digital reach and foster meaningful connections.
    • Collaborate with the Communication Department to handle digital crisis communication effectively and professionally when necessary.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Public Relations, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
    • 3–5 years of professional experience in Web Development, Communications, or social media and Digital Campaign Management
    • Strong written communication skills and competency to produce and deliver content to a wide audience.
    • Proven experience developing and implementing strategies for LinkedIn.
    • Experience with Content Management Systems and Adobe Creative Cloud
    • Proven experience in the design and delivery of innovative and effective digital communications on a variety of channels
    • Excellent IT, design, and project management skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of communication practices, tools, and techniques in social media.
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.

    Carbon Sales Account Manager

    About the role

    BURN is seeking an Account Manager to support our carbon credit sales team. The Account Manager will be stewarding long-term trusted relationships and operate as the main point of contact for all matters related to our clients. You will be responsible for building and maintaining these customer relationships and overseeing customer account management.

    This person will respond to client enquiries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Carbon Operations and Finance) to continually improve the full customer experience through a commitment to clear and reproducible processes and procedures.
    Ultimately, our Account Manager will collaborate with our sales team to achieve our targets while keeping our clients satisfied and engaged with our projects and credits. If you are familiar with account management software (CRM), have a flair for client communication, and understand consumer behaviour, we’d like to meet you.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve as the main point of contact for all customer account management matters
    • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of credits and services according to customer contracts and additional requests
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with international clients.
    • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts
    • Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities and meet our KPIs through forecasting and metrics
    • Manage and monitor sales practices and tools to support repeatable, scalable sales processes that accelerate growth quickly.
    • Maintain and manage a client database
    • Collaborate with members across departments to produce high quality proposals, marketing materials for projects, outreach to our customer base, market announcements, etc.

    Skills and Experience

    • 7+ years of experience working as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, or relevant role dealing with sophisticated international clients
    • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
    • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Zoho or HubSpot), and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
    • A laser-like attention to detail
    • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at one time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in international English
    • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and closing deals with large companies
    • Experience within the carbon offset credits markets is desirable, or experience in fair trade and commodity markets
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple country offices and departments
    • Technical aptitude to learn quickly to discuss carbon standards and credit quality

    B2C Channel Sales Manager (Electric) – Kenya

    About the role:

    BURN is looking for a B2C Channel Sales Manager – Electric who will be responsible for articulating and implementing the organization’s strategy for selling products or services in the specific locations assigned.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Direct Sales Channel Strategy: Develop and execute the route-to-market strategy for the Direct Sales (Business to Consumer/B2C) Channel in line with carbon project requirements. RTM strategy will focus on door-to-door (D2D) and market day sales.
    • Team Management: Build (from scratch), train, and manage a team of Territory Sales Managers and Team Leaders, and a network of over 1000+ Direct Sales Agents (B2C across the country. Work with a third-party recruitment agency(s) to continually hire and train Direct Sales Agents to meet agent headcount and sales targets.
    • Carbon Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensure all Monitoring and Evaluation of carbon project requirements are adhered to, specifically that stoves are sold to households that meet predefined criteria and quality data is collected from every end-end user.
    • Agent Compensation: Advise the Management team on suitable compensation structures and incentive programs for the Direct Sales team.
    • Systems and Procedures: Ensure the Direct Sales team follows all procedures around CRM, inventory management, and cash collections. Coordinate with other departments to ensure all Direct Sales Agents have trained appropriately on all relevant applications and tools.
    • KPI Management: Define and track key performance indicators for all staff within the Direct Sales channel in line with the country’s strategy.
    • Market Intelligence: In collaboration with the Carbon team, assist with the execution of carbon feasibility studies and other market research studies.
    • Reporting: Produce analytical reports for the Management team on the performance of the DirectSales Team, including analyzing key sales, marketing, carbon registration, and regional team performance metrics. Provide regular forecasts (city and region level) to the Management team.
    • Marketing Coordination: Together with the Marketing team, plan and lead the implementation of a range of below-the-line and above-the-line marketing activities.

    Skills and Experience:

    • 3+ years’ experience managing Direct Sales team(s) (over 500 agents) in the specified country, preferably with fast-moving and consumer-durable goods.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the sales and marketing fields in the specified country context, preferably in consumer durables and/or fast-moving consumer goods
    • 3+ years’ experience running on-the-ground sales and marketing events, specifically marketplace product activations/demonstrations.
    • 2+ years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation
    • 3+ years’ experience in project management and demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects with many stakeholders to deliver results on time.
    • Strong leadership and people development skills
    • Strong experience in data collection and analysis
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
    • Strong report development, and analytic/number-crunching background, supported by excellent graphical presentation skills.
    • Experience in building and managing successful B2C sales teams from scratch, preferably with FMCG and consumer durables, in Eastern Africa
    • Relevant bachelor’s degree (master’s degree / MBA is a plus)
    • Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, a desire to ‘sell for good’ and willing to get your “hands dirty”.
    • Experience working on carbon offsetting projects, preferably with a focus on renewable energy products.
