    Chef (Head of Kitchen)

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Worked as chef in quality environment (restaurant, lodge, home chef)
    • Diploma in Culinary Arts / Certification in Food and Beverage production or similar qualification
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Hospitality related field would be an added advantage
    • HACCP training would be an added advantage
    • Great presenting skills, and comfortable approach to the camera
    • Ability to work alongside a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once

    Operations Manager

    Today we seek an Operations Manager who can drive the business forward as part of a rapid expansion plan. The Operations Manager reports directly to the directors of the company and is end responsible for all logistics operations. We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit that owns the processes, builds the team, and sets up the technology that we need to grow 10x in the coming 2 years.

    The main areas are:

    • Warehouse management: organizing an effective and efficient warehouse system that facilitates timely and high-quality dispatch processes (e.g. traceability, batch management, accuracy)
    • Packing logistics: supervising the processes that allow products to be shipped in a way that they will arrive at the customer safely
    • Delivery logistics: making sure all deliveries are done in full (own and 3rd party logistics), in excellent state, within the projected time window communicated to the customer (especially frozen and fresh products)
    • Site management: making sure that the site runs well (electricity, water, masonry, racking, office space etc.)

    We have many processes in place already: a working ERP, a daily quality report with detailed issue report and an amazing team with great team leaders. The Operations Manager will be mostly working to scale the operation further, enhancing processes and building the team further.

    We need someone who is ready to facilitate the rapid growth we are facing and anticipating for the future. For this we require the following:

    • The candidate is tech-savvy and sees the benefit of automating and standardizing processes
    • The candidate is streetwise and can solve ad hoc problems as they arise (not afraid to get hands dirty)
    • The candidate has a great eye for detail and has a perfectionistic nature (just good is not good enough)
    • The candidate has a photographic memory of what is happening during operations
    • The candidate keeps oversight on what is happening in the business and what needs to happen
    • The candidate is a strong and inspiring leader, is able to increase process compliance, and is able to grow the team
    • The candidate always takes responsibility for the operations, even when he/she is not present
    • The candidate is open to giving feedback and telling matters how they are, even when conversations are difficult
    • The candidate gives timely and high-quality reports on what is really happening in the business and root cause analyses and corrective actions when something went wrong
    • The candidate independently drives improvement agenda within the business and needs to be able to think out of the box to solve logistics challenges we are facing
    • The candidate can easily underpin operational decisions with its financial impact and drives cost efficiency

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s level
    • This is a senior role with a seat on the management team, so the candidate should be comfortable giving high-quality presentations to management and investors
    • We value mindset over experience, but a typical candidate should have around 10 years of relevant experience in fast-paced environments
    • Previous logistics management experience in food handling
    • Experienced in leading larger teams
    • Comfortable working with ERPs
    • Strong analytical mindset and Excel skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Experience with LEAN, Kaizen or other continuous improvement methodologies

    Product Analyst (Foodie)

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Being the gatekeeper of our website, and checking that at all times, it looks beautiful, has informative and exciting product descriptions and is 100% transparent about the source of all our products.
    • Processing supplier applications and vetting new products.
    • Helping organise product tastings for the team and / or specific customer groups for specific types of products.
    • Educating and informing our packing and logistics teams on new products coming in to the warehouse.
    • Conducting global research about what products are available and what we could bring to Greenspoon to excite and delight our customers.
    • Negotiating favorable trade terms with suppliers (margins, credit, delivery agreements)
    • Working closely with the CMO, as well as the Marketing, Procurement and Finance teams to make the onboarding of new products smooth.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Interest in food, cooking, and Kenyan products.
    • Great writing skills.
    • Ability to work alongside a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once.
    • Ambitious, and ready to take on various roles from time to time.
    • Incredible eye for detail (visual, textual)
    • Added bonus: an interest in events!
