    Talent Acquisition Consultant

    The Opportunity 

    This is an exciting new role in the global Talent Acquisition Team and a fantastic opportunity to maximise our impact in the lives of children, and in particular girls, around the world.You will contribute to building individual and organisational capability and knowledge to meet evolving operational and strategic requirements in the area of Talent Acquisition and with a specific focus on providing specialist support, capacity and advice to the Western and Central Africa region.

    A particular focus of the People and Culture Strategic Roadmap is Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Anti-Racism and this role will support targeted, holistic actions at Country, Regional and Global levels aligned to this plan. Ensuring that we have the right people available for the organisations current and future needs and to meet our strategic goals is imperative to ensuring that we maximise our positive impact on the lives of children, especially girls, globally. You will help us to forecast source and build talent pipelines and guide selection processes across a wide range of roles and countries.  

    The following are essential for success in this role;

    Knowledge

    • Resourcing specialist with extensive end-to-end recruitment experience in an in-house environment
    • Knowledge of the use of Application Tracking System (ATS)/recruitment platforms
    • An understanding of how to attract diverse talent and how to ensure inclusion and accessibility throughout the recruitment process
    • Knowledge of legal rules and regulations associated with recruitment
    • Fluent written and spoken English. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish an advantage

    Deployable Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist

    We are recruiting new deployable Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) specialists to build a diverse global humanitarian surge team, join us!

    About You

    As deployable CPiE specialist, you will travel up to 70% per year to emergencies globally. During a deployment you provide oversight and leadership to Plan International's child protection response. You will be responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, coordination, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of child protection in emergency programmes as part of our broader emergency response. You will ensure that our intervention meets the minimum standards for child protection and gender-based violence in emergencies.

    We are seeking CPiE specialists with demonstrable experience in humanitarian settings with progressively responsible roles in designing, leading and/or coordinating CPiE responses. We are specifically looking for candidates with expertise in approaches to support child survivors of sexual- and gender-based violence (SGBV), mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and candidates with strong team management and capacity-strengthening experience. Ideally, you will be proficient in English and one of the following languages: French, Spanish or Arabic. You will be committed to ensuring safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) is core to our ways of working.

    ROLE PURPOSE

    The Deployable Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) Specialist provides technical support to Plan International’s country offices and partners responding to medium and large-scale emergencies to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate child protection programmes.

    DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE

    • The post holder will deploy, sometimes at short notice, to support Plan International’s country offices and partners to respond to specific humanitarian crises for a minimum of 4 up to 12 weeks.
    • During deployments up to five staff may report to the post holder and a number of indirect reports.
    • Between deployments the post-holder will work on specific desk-based tasks for Global Hub contributing to the global Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) Work plan.
    • The post holder is expected to foster relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including CPiE Specialists and Disaster and Risk Management Teams in Plan International National and Country Offices. In particular it is expected to support the coordination and be an active member of inter-agency Child Protection coordination mechanisms and the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
    • In all deployments, the post holder will play a key role in strengthening capacity at field level, and in the effective scale up and management of child protection and integrated programmes to increase impact for children and adolescents.

    TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    Essential

    • University degree in social work, psychology or related field.
    • At least five years of professional experience in child protection in emergencies work in progressively responsible roles.
    • Good knowledge of and experience in applying the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
    • Knowledge and understanding of key programming approaches and minimum standards for child protection in humanitarian action, including approaches to support child survivors of SGBV.
    • Experience of conducting child protection needs assessments.
    • Experience providing technical support and oversight to CPiE programmes.
    • Experience of capacity strengthening on child protection technical areas with a variety of audiences.
    • Experience in programme design and proposal development and ability to secure funding from public and private funding streams
    • Understanding of field level representation with key stakeholders and coordination with peer NGOs and UN actors.
    • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
    • Excellent negotiation, representation, skills and the ability to work comfortably with an ethnically diverse staff in a very sensitive environment.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
    • Strong communication (written and spoken) skills in English.

    Desirable

    • Proficiency in French, Spanish or Arabic, written and spoken.
