    Membership Intern

    We are seeking a proactive and dedicated intern to join our Membership team at KEPRO. As a Membership Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to engage and serve our members effectively. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable practices while gaining valuable experience in membership management and environmental stewardship.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Your specific duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Initiate and conduct proactive communication with members approaching their renewal dates.
    • Provide personalized support and facilitate seamless renewal processes for members to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
    • Assist members with monthly volume declarations, ensuring compliance and accuracy with reporting requirements.
    • Help members navigate the declaration process and address any issues or questions that may arise.
    • Provide on-site assistance to members, including conducting visits to member facilities as needed.
    • Address member queries and concerns and offer timely support through our help desk services to ensure a positive membership experience.
    • Conduct comprehensive analysis of membership data to derive insights for informed decision-making and tailored membership strategies.
    • Utilize data analytics techniques to identify trends, track membership metrics, and assess the effectiveness of membership engagement initiatives.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase member involvement and participation in organizational activities.
    • Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and outreach activities to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among members.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Business Development, Marketing, Data analysis, or related field.
    • Passion for environmental sustainability and commitment to promoting responsible waste management practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
    • Previous experience in membership management, customer service, or environmental advocacy is a plus.

    SWEEP Partnership Lead

    The SWEEP Partnership Lead will drive the coordination, growth, and delivery of the SWEEP Partnership in Kenya and, to a limited extent, Ethiopia. Hosted by KEPRO but employed by Last Mile Climate, the Lead will serve as the key focal point for building and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships, advancing government alignment, and supporting the development of waste management projects under the SWEEP platform in humanitarian contexts.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Management, Circular Economy, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including partnership management, project development, or policy engagement in waste management, circular economy, or related fields.
    • Proven experience working with multi-stakeholder platforms involving government, private sector, and NGOs.
    • Strong understanding of Kenya’s waste management landscape, including EPR frameworks, circular economy initiatives, and policy environment.
    • Experience working in humanitarian or last-mile contexts is a strong advantage.
    • Knowledge of innovative financing mechanisms (plastic credits, carbon credits, etc.) desirable.
