    Program Management Specialist (PMS)

    Job description

    PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (PMS), USAID FAHARI YA JAMII PROJECT - AD/4/45/22 - (1 POST)

    The Program Management Specialist will have primary responsibility for program administrative management of the project; supervision and oversight of all administrative support staff; and establishment of the systems, procedures, and training of staff required to ensure compliance with USAID. The PMS will supervise administrative team members and ensure that daily office operations are performed in a seamless and efficient manner. The PMS will develop, review, and improve policies, systems, and procedures; and generally ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently. The PMS will report to the Finance and Administration Manager.

    Job specifications

    At a minimum, the PMS will have:

    • A Master’s or a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration or a related field. 
    • Bachelor's Degree and seven (7) years of experience; Master's Degree and five (5) years of experience.

    Terms of appointment

    This a position whose tenure is one (1) year contract renewable based on performance and by mutual consent. The salary is negotiable depending on the level of education and work experience.

    Human Resource Officer (HRO)

    Job description

    HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER (HRO), USAID FAHARI YA JAMII PROJECT - AD/4/44/22 - (1 POST)

    The HRO is responsible for the management of human resource function for Fahari Ya Jamii Program. The HRO is a key partner providing advice primarily in the areas of employee relations and programs and interpretation of policies and procedures. He or she is the primary subject matter officer on all phases of staff onboarding, contracting management and performance management. Duties include but are not limited to recruitment and contracting of project staff, salary negotiation, preparation of all types of contracts, contract modifications, contract close outs and other general personnel actions. He or she is responsible for ensuring compliance to USAID and University of Nairobi human resource policies, rules, regulations and systems in a timely, responsible, documented, accurate and confidential manner. The HRO will report to the Programme Management Specialist.

    Job specifications

    At a minimum, the HRO will have:

    • A Master’s or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Social Science or a related field;
    • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of experience, Master's degree and three (3) years of experience.
    • Relevant experience supporting or leading Human Resource for international donors, preferably USG or relevant experience in Public Institutions supporting international donor projects.
    • Member of IHRM or any other relevant professional body.

    Child Health Lead

    The Project

    The University of Nairobi has received funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support implementation of the Kenya Health Partnerships for Quality Services (HIV, FP/RMNCAH, Nutrition and WASH) in Nairobi and Kajiado Counties through the USAID Fahari ya Jamii Project. For successful implementation, the Project seeks to competitively fill the above position.

    CHILD HEALTH LEAD, USAID FAHARI YA JAMII PROJECT - AD/4/43/22 - (1 POST)

    The Child Health Lead will provide high technical assistance to supported sites and communities to optimize outcomes for child survival and development.

    Job specifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree
    • Postgraduate training in Child Health or Public Health (maternal-child health specialization)
    • Seven (7) years’ work experience in the field of HIV programming
    • A current and valid practice license
