    Bank Applications Specialist

    Job Purpose Statement

    This role is responsible for the operations that facilitate the stable operation of the bank’s core systems around Treasury, NCBA Investment bank, NCBA insurance, custodial services, finance reconciliation, Trade finance and related system Operations. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing systems Operations in collaboration with external vendors, system experts and information security experts. This role will be responsible for systems support on Credit systems, Trade services systems, Treasury systems, NCBA Banc Assurance, NCBA Investment bank, Custodial services and all financial systems. The systems include, IPEN, Credit-quest, Kollectpro, CRB, T24, SSP and ARCIB amongst others. Custody plus, Intellimatch, Broker back office, Wealth management, Calypso Front to back implementation, and other related systems (Reuters, DTS, Bloomberg, and ALM Reporting) for the entire NCBA Group. The role also includes support for projects and changes carried out on any of these appliances and provision of effective and efficient user support, production management, incident management, change management, project management, patch management and application administration The Bank Applications Specialist will schedule and direct activities to resolve the banking software and service problems in a timely and accurate fashion as per set out SLA and is in charge of the full Life Cycle of all the applications that fall within this area.

    Ideal Job Specifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science /Information
    • Minimum 5 years working experience in a busy IT or Project Office environment within a financial institution.
    • Understanding and experience in supporting Treasury Front / Back and Middle office operations.
    • Good knowledge of Credit systems, Trade services systems, Treasury systems, NCBA Banc Assurance, NCBA Investment bank, Custodial services.
    • Experience with IPEN, Intellimatch and Credit Quest is a plus
    • Extensive experience in Business Analysis or Systems Analysis.
    • Hands on Experience on Web Application Management on Jboss
    • Good working knowledge on Treasury Applications. Experience on Calypso is preferred.
    • Knowledge relating to treasury products and GL management is desirable
    • Hands on experience with Project Management tools, systems design and analysis.
    • Proven knowledge of banking operations, operations in business units and business impact analysis.

    Senior Core Banking (T24) Developer

    Job Purpose Statement

    • To develop new processes and modify existing T24 functions to meet business requirements.
    • To develop applications that interface with the Core Banking system to extend its capability.
    • To closely work with testing teams to ensure solutions developed are defect free and meet business requirements.

    Ideal Person Specifications

    Academic qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related course.
    • Professional training:
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Certificate in Programming in any 2 languages.
    • Desired work experience:
    • Application Developer NCBA
    • At least 3 years practical proven experience in core banking development, support and troubleshooting of T24, web technology and programming in Infobasic.
    • Proven experience in systems analysis, design, implementation and support.
    • Experience in T24 template programming, T24 customization (VERSION, ENQUIRY, online services), COB , Design Studio
    • Deep understanding of the following T24 modules: System Core tables, Funds Transfer, Teller, Arrangement Architecture, Forex , Integration Frameworks, Business Events
    • Understanding of modern software development concepts like Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

    Workflow Delivery Lead

    Job Purpose Statement

    The role holder is responsible in ensuring that all workflows designed and approved for implementation are deployed as per the agreed project timelines and the agreed quality standards. They will act as a liaison between the business process teams and the developers. The role holder would be responsible for ensuring that the solutions developed would meet the future requirements of the business. They will attend design sessions with the developers to ensure that the solution design is agreed by all teams and would be responsible for supporting the other teams within the department to remove any issues that occur during the development lifecycle.

    API Developer

    Job Purpose Statement

    This is a technical role that is responsible for the analysis, design, development and management (technical support) of the bank’s ESB platforms with all its integration points to the Core Banking System, Bank Channels, Partners and other Third-Party systems. The role delivers business strategy by making information flow through various Bank Systems. The role requires prototyping skills, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of an agile team, to manage competing priorities, design solutions as part of a larger roadmap and to be hands on in supporting implemented technologies as well as new technologies. 

    Ideal Job Specifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. A Master’s degree in Technology or Business-related course is an added advantage
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in IT systems development within a large highly digitized organization designing, implementing and managing mission critical systems, with at least 2 of those years within systems integration
    • Certification and experience implementing best practice frameworks e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2
    • Hands on experience in software development with major languages Java, .NET, C# and practical experience using relation RDBMS e.g. Oracle and MS SQL etc.
    • Strong hands on experience in any middleware development suite including BPEL, Human Workflow, Business rules, OSB, JDeveloper, WebLogic Application server, Oracle and Microsoft SQLDatabase scripting.
    • Strong understanding of SOA lifecycle, Integration patterns and standard methodologies.
    • Experience in creating technical designs, deployment related artifacts.
    • Ability to Develop, Unit test and fix defects raised during testing phases.
    • Deep understanding of industry standard formats and protocols (JMS, SOAP, XML/XPath/XQuery, REST and JSON)
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • A good knowledge of the systems and processes within Financial Services industry
    • Issue/bug tracking tools e.g. JIRA
    • Use of continuous integration tools e.g. Gitlab CI/Jenkins
