    Audit Client & Industries Associate

    Main purpose of the job

    The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Audit and Assurance teams in client and industries matters. He/she will support business development activities through research, analysis, and will be responsible for the operational processes relating to business development in the department.

    What you will do

    • Conduct research on the business environment;
    • Perform ongoing analysis on the business landscape, current and potential market needs in order to inform business development strategies;
    • Maintain a proficient knowledge of services and capabilities across the department and the Firm to ensure relevant and informed business interactions;
    • Facilitate the generation of innovative solutions to emerging market needs in collaboration with team members to enhance / renew service offerings;
    • Collaborate with the central Clients & Industries team when required and;
    • Perform other administrative tasks that will be assigned by the leadership team.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related field from a recognized university.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Ability to perform research and gather information.
    • Good data analytics skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and iWork.
    • Good in report writing skills.
    • Ability to maintain industry research records.
    • Good team player.

    Audit Senior Associate

    Main purpose of the job

    The incumbent will support the execution of audit fieldwork and ensure that assigned tasks are conducted economically and per agreed client and Firm standards on a series of exciting and challenging Audit engagement projects.

    What you will do

    • Support the delivery of engagements/projects in specific area of competency;
    • Assist in identifying client needs and problem technical issues that arise and propose resolutions to address these;
    • Raise issues with the Audit Seniors and Managers as identified in area of focus that may affect the quality of delivery or timelines of the engagement;
    • Maintain quality and timeous delivery as per Service Level Agreements with clients;
    • Actively build business relationships that generate leads, identify opportunities for follow-on work and work with management to win the business;
    • Assist in development of client presentations/discussion documentation;
    •  Assist in managing engagement risk in line with Deloitte policies; 
    • Maintain clear communication channels with engagement team members on work status;
    • Maintain own development and knowledge in specialised area; and
    • Comply with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the Firm's quality control procedures.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
    • Currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification such Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and/or Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
    • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards.
    • Proficient in Auditing software.
    • At least two (2) years’ professional audit working experience.
    • Experience with an internationally recognized auditing firm is an added advantage.

    Audit Senior

    • Actively build business relationships that generate leads, identify opportunities for follow-on work and work with management to win the business;
    • Assist in development of client presentations/discussion documentation;
    • Develop productive working relationships with client staff;
    • Manage engagement risk in line with Deloitte policies; 
    • Maintain clear communication channels with engagement team members on work status;
    • Share expertise and knowledge with team members and assist where possible to ensure quality and timeous delivery of work;
    • Maintain own development and knowledge in specialised area; and
    • Comply with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the Firm's quality control procedures.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

    Business Support Coordinator - Tax

    Main purpose of the job

    The holder of this position will assist engagement teams (professionals at all levels) with performing the required Finance, Strategy, Quality, Independence, Risk & Legal processes.

    What you will do

    • Ensure that the Tax & Legal department complies with the Firm’s Quality, Independence, Risk & Reputation processes;
    • Ensure completion of the Engagement Acceptance (EA) Forms in consultation with the Opportunity Partner/ Manager;
    • Review and discuss opportunity and engagement monitoring reports regularly with the responsible Partner/ Manager;
    • Assist managers to capture clients and opportunities on the Phoenix system, conduct high-level conflict checks, follow up on client acceptances/continuance with respective approvers and follow up with opportunity managers and directors on outstanding checks/approvals;
    • Assist opportunity teams in logging conflict checks on the system and following up as appropriate to ensure queries are addressed;
    • Follow up with the Lead Client Service Partner (LCSP) and other approvers required as per the conflict check outcome;
    • Provide assistance to managers on the Deloitte Entity Search and Compliance System (DESC) by facilitating the logging and follow up of service requests;
    • Monitor business relationships and follow up with managers and directors regarding outstanding actions;
    • Create and file relevant contract documents and letters of engagement on the system; 
    • Keep file archival tracker up to date and follow up as appropriate with Managers to ensure files are archived and share regular reports;
    • Assist the Tax & Legal Department execute strategy sessions and tracking on progress of strategic initiatives;
    • Support in business development and training initiatives;
    • Support the Tax and Legal Finance team on day to day finance initiatives including billings, working capital and debtors management; 
    • Timely escalation of issues identified; and
    • Any other duties that may be allocated to support Tax & Legal function.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised institution.
    • At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the service industry.
    • Good understanding of risk management, finance, compliance systems and processes.
    • Strong administration skills and ability to drive a task to completion and work with limited supervision.
