    Packaging Officer( Fruits & Vegetables)

    Our client seeks to hire a packaging officer. S/he will be tasked with analyzing and determining all standards for packaging lines and ensure compliance to all schedule for processes and develop and maintain all packing orders effectively.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency of packaging department and monitor inventory for warehouse and maintain records of all physical transactions and prepare documents for same.
    • Maintain and ensure compliance to packaging schedule and assign specific tasks to all employees and monitor all packing equipment’s and supplies.
    • Coordinate with quality and warehouse departments to monitor everyday activities of units and ensure efficient working of both manufacturing and packaging department and ensure continuous improvement in same.
    • Manage all work according to packing schedule and maintain an inventory of materials and completion of all projects with required timeframe.
    • Develop team environment in department and resolve all packing issues in coordination with quality department.
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors and improve efficiency process through incorporation of new technology.
    • Implements quality control check to ensure the packaging meets environment, health, and safety regulations
    • Responsible for stacking and piling goods into their correct containers and preparing them for shipment using various equipment.
    • Provides staff with directions on materials and equipment for each package.
    • Review packing lists as well as mark and label containers

    Qualifications

    • Major in agriculture or relevant course, diploma above
    • At least 3 years’ experience in veggies/fruits packing
    • Familiar with veggies and avocados packing process will be an added advantage
    • Can be well acquainted with the demands from each different markets(Europe middle east)
    • Responsible for the total workshop management, secure each customer`s order.
    • The ability to work well with others
    • Physical skills like movement, coordination, dexterity and grace
    • Should be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device

    Farm Accountant

    Our client seeks to hire a competent candidate to fill the post of an Accountant. S/he will be responsible for the administration of management accounts, organizational budgeting and the administration of accounting processes.

    Salary: 35k 

    Responsibilities

    • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
    • Preparation of tax computations and statutory returns
    • Assist with analysis of monthly financial reports and report on variances
    • Ensuring prompt payment to and from suppliers
    • Stock reconciliation for farm produce
    • Managing payroll, statutory deductions, and tax returns
    • Responsible for calculating cost pricing of work in progress stock items
    • Assist management in budgeting, cash flow forecasts and financial reporting
    • Maintain general ledger
    • Conduct month end and year end close
    • Preparation of monthly and year end general ledger reconciliations
    • Maintains and updates fixed asset register
    • Cash flow management
    • Manage book keeping and financial systems
    • Maintain general ledger

    Quality Controller(Fruits & Vegetables)

    Our client seeks to hire a Quality Controller. S/he will be Responsible for inspection on fruits & veggies to ensure that they meet the quality requirements. S/he will implement and monitors procedures, standards and specifications aimed at meeting a company’s food quality goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Contributes to development of department mission, strategy, programs, and operating budget
    • Collaborates with key internal customers in order to provide effective and efficient support against project objectives and timelines
    • Review customer feedback and respond to any complaints.
    • Prepare reports on food quality status to relay to owners and upper-level management and keep records of all tests and inspections that have been conducted.
    • Developing and reviewing existing safety and quality policies,
    • Inspecting the workplace for compliance and identifying any areas of concern,
    • Provides support for achieving compliance to company requirements.
    • Selects and manages third-party auditing services to validate supplier compliance. Uses auditing data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement for each supplier.
    • Monitors effectiveness of ongoing training program on in-store safe food handling and sanitation practices.
    • Inspect the food products to ensure they are safe and of a high quality before releasing them to the market.
    • Use a checklist to confirm products are packaged safely, and have expiration dates and instructions about storage and use.

    Qualifications

    • Major in agriculture , food science or closely related course , diploma and above
    • At least 3-5  years above experience in veggies and avocados quality control
    • Previous experience in sensory and quality evaluation of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables will be an added advantage
    • Have cutting-edge analytical skills,
    • The ability to identify problems in products,
    • A keen eye for details and consistent study on quality-related issues.
    • Familiar with include the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to assimilate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment
    • Familiarity with food regulations

    Assistant Farm Manager

    Our client seeks to hire an Assistant Farm Manager with a good understanding of the modern farming methods. S/he will be tasked with implementing strategies for maximum yield, organize farm administration, work machinery and manage any associated businesses and staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters
    • undertake practical activities, such as driving tractors, operating machinery, feeding livestock or spraying fields
    • Market the farm’s products and Confers with purchasers and arranges for sale of crops.

    • Analyzes soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production.

    Qualifications

    • Major in agriculture or relevant course, diploma & above
    • At least 2 years above experience in farm management
    • Familiar with the planting of French beans, snow peas, etc.
    • The location of farm is in Mbooni, Mwea, Meru- can smoothly communicate with local farmers and even effectively train them.
    • Knowledge of food production and an awareness of customer demand, food standards and sustainability
    • Organizational and time-management skills
    • The ability to work under pressure
