    Director of Sport - Prep School

    The Role

    St Andrew’s, Prep School is seeking to appoint a appoint  a Director of Sport who will be responsible to the Director of Co-Curricular and the Deputy Head Academic for the provision of Sport and teaching and learning throughout the Preparatory School, as well as contributing across all areas of school life.

    This role requires committed leadership passion and a desire for excellence as well as a wide range of personal sporting experience in different team and individual sports. Strong  skills of managing staff and students are also required.  The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the sports programme including fixtures and along with other staff, training teams and taking matches.  Sport is a very important part of School life. St Andrew’s Prep School follows the British Curriculum throughout the School. Within this role the successful candidate will be expected to provide the highest standards of teaching within a department. State subjects in which you have proven competency and experience.

Beyond that we want to have staff who love working as part of a team; who are first class communicators and who are passionate about the subjects and the pupils they teach; who are creative and diligent in their planning; who are adaptable, energetic and resilient.

    This post would suit a current Head of Department looking for a new challenge and looking to develop their leadership skills.  Alternatively, the role might suit an exceptional individual with experience gained as a Teacher of PE who has a desire for greater challenge and responsibility. Experience of working in a Prep School, or in boarding would be desirable, but not essential.  Above all, what matters is a commitment to help us provide a world-class education for our children

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Recognized teaching qualification e.g. PGCE
    • A  demonstrable commitment to professional self-improvement

    EXPERIENCE

    • Experience of teaching/coaching sport to a high level in Key Stage 2 & 3 and the ability to coach teams for at least 3 years.
    • A proven track record of excellent teaching and classroom management skills
    • Successful experience in raising student achievement and adding value.

    • Experience of teaching PE in KS2/KS4.

    Head of Modern Foreign Languages

    The Role

    The Senior School Head of Modern Foreign Languages, reporting to the Deputy Head Academic, is a vital member of the Academic Management Team.  A love of foreign language and a keen interest in teaching creatively are key requirements.  The ideal candidate will join a thriving and well experienced department.  They will be expected to teach across Year 9 to Year 13. She/he must offer French as their main language.  The ability to teach Spanish as a second subject would be an added advantage.  Experience of following the French Edexcel IGCSE and A level courses would be an advantage.

    As a full boarding school, St Andrew's is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding programme to which all staff contribute.  The successful candidate will be an academic tutor and attached to a specific boarding house for duties.

    Teacher of Humanities Senior School

    The Role

    This is a exciting opportunity for a recently qualified teacher of Humanities to acquire a wide range of experience in a successful, independent, full boarding school.  The ideal candidate will join a thriving and well experienced faculty, achieving excellent results at A level and (I)GCSE.  They will be expected to teach across at least two of the Humanities.  They will also be fully involved in the outstanding Sports and Outdoor Education provision.
