    Manager Advisory (Corporate Finance)

    Relationship Building

    • Develops and maintains relationships with clients at Chairman, CEO and CFO level, and ensures other Bank seniors are also brought into these relationships.
    • Establishes and maintains sound relationships with the various relevant regulatory authorities in East Africa. Appropriately balances technical input and marketing skills to address client environment and needs.
    • Builds relationships across all hierarchical levels within and outside the Bank in order to develop a credible and relevant network, to ensure leading edge financial and market information.

    Service Delivery

    • Provides advisory services to clients to grow value and achieve higher return on investment
    • Originates deals – participates in client service teams and other forums to identify potential transactions that clients may wish to pursue and manages the preparation of, and provides input to, pitch presentations and attends pursuit meetings with clients
    • Executes and manages all stages of the deal process for mandated buy-side and sell-side M&A deal processes:
    • reviews and builds financial models, conducts valuation and pricing analyses of merger & acquisitions and other transactions, including estimating the value of the proposed benefits of the M&A opportunity
    • completes strategic investment analyses and advises clients on negotiation and deal strategy
    • oversees and manages due diligence processes
    • advises and helps clients identify risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines, and functional areas
    • advises clients on commercial and corporate finance mattes to be included in deal documentation

    People Management

    • Demonstrates ability and willingness to work in a team with a flat structure.
    • Ensures that Investment Banking staff with whom there is interaction remain highly motivated.
    • Manages expectations with clients, the Global Advisory team, Head: Investment Banking East Africa and the Heads of Investment Banking in the three East African countries, proactively keeps these seniors fully in the picture regarding Investment Banking developments
    • Provides on the job coaching to junior Investment Banking staff in the Team.

    Financial Management

    • Understands the budget and target setting process and provides relevant and accurate input into this process.

    Vice President: Lending Corporate Financing Solutions

    Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance

    Complete pipeline information on Salesforce Dot Com (SFDC) timeously and accurately to maintain pipeline relevance.

    Utilise understanding of pricing model, FTP, Capital regulations, ALCO (Asset and Liability Committee) and risk frameworks to support the deal process and generate relevant insights. Work with Coverage, Risk and Distribution to ensure there is sufficient balance sheet appetite to pursue new pipeline and free up / churn capital to optimise the balance sheet in accordance with Portfolio Risk Management Committee (PRMC) and risk guidelines.

    Understand the regulatory environment in which CIB operates and adhere to all applicable internal and external policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant CIB risk, regulatory and business control requirements. Guide team members to enhance their understanding and application of standards, procedures and products.
    Strategy

    • Develop and provide a point of view that contributes towards the development and execution of CFS goals and objectives to contribute towards IB revenue growth.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Type of Qualification Field of Study
    • First Degree Business Commerce

    Experience Requirement

    • 10 years experience in Corporate Financing Solutions with understanding and knowledge of local and global Lending products / solutions to effectively develop and present innovative client solutions.
