• Disassembly and assembly of machine and components
• Measuring and marking out materials for fabrication

• Setting up tools and machinery for fabrication
• Documenting processes and maintaining records
• Optimizing plant efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies
• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to statutory requirements
• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of machinery and equipment
• Operating specialised tools and machinery

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in large manufacting environment

DUTY AND RESPOSIBILITIES

• Applying idfs and permits in ICMS and kentrade
• Registering  customs entries for all regimes  Exports, Imports, Warehousing ,Transit and Transhipments
• Preparing the required clearance documents  as a port clerk
• Following up with Kra, Kentrade, and other governmental agencies for approval of entries,idfs,and other permits
• Coordinating with operation staff in regards to clearance of shipments
• Giving/advising clients on h s code ,estimates duties and taxes
• Advising company and clients with respect to the declaration
• Assist in Bonds registration and cancellation
• Ensure timely resolving of declaration issues ,queries are investigated and resolved or escalated timely  are with relevant authorities
• Arrange for inspection/verification of goods and compliancy with COC,Kebs,
• Send daily update to clients and operation teams on shipment progress via emails, phone calls or any other approved channel of communication

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Tariff classification
• Port operations and procedures
• Freight forwarding ( Knoledged of all the documents related to shipping)
• Customs law and procedures
• Rules of origin and valuation
• Basic management skills
• Any other skills related to shipping

EDUCATION

• Certificate in KCSE
• Diploma in clearing and forwarding preferably  from Kesra
• Any other certificate/Diploma related to shipping eg DG,IATA
