Job Purpose
The Strategy Execution Intern provides high-level analytical, coordination, and operational support to the Regional Director to ensure effective execution of HealthRight Africa’s regional strategy. The role focuses on translating strategic priorities into actionable workplans, tracking delivery against agreed milestones, supporting cross-functional coordination, and strengthening accountability across country offices and technical teams.
The position is not a general administrative role; it is a results-oriented function designed to enable disciplined strategy implementation, performance management, and informed leadership decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Implementation & Follow-Up
- Support translation of regional strategic priorities, annual plans, and leadership decisions into clear action plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Track execution of strategic initiatives across country programs and technical units, flagging delays, risks, and dependencies.
- Maintain a consolidated regional strategy execution dashboard, including milestones, KPIs, and progress status.
- Support preparation of quarterly and annual regional performance reviews.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
- Collect, synthesize, and analyze performance data from country offices and against agreed targets.
- Prepare concise management briefs, dashboards, and analytical summaries for the Regional Director and senior leadership.
- Support follow-up on performance review meetings, including documentation of decisions, action points, and accountability assignments.
Cross-Country & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as a coordination focal point between the Regional Director’s office, country programs, and technical/support functions.
- Track interdepartmental commitments and ensure timely follow-through.
- Support planning and coordination of regional leadership meetings, strategy reviews, and priority task forces.
Strategic Planning & Institutional Initiatives
- Support development, updating, and operationalization of regional strategies, roadmaps, and change initiatives.
- Assist in preparing concept notes, internal strategy documents, and briefing materials for internal and external engagements.
- Provide analytical and coordination support to priority institutional initiatives (e.g. expansion, partnerships, transformation efforts).
Executive Support & Decision Enablement
- Prepare high-quality briefing notes, talking points, and background analyses for the Regional Director’s meetings and engagements.
- Track key decisions made by the Regional Director and leadership forums, ensuring follow-up and closure.
- Support prioritization of the Regional Director’s strategic agenda by organizing inputs, timelines, and dependencies.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, Economics or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in strategy support, program management, performance management, or executive support within an INGO, development organization, or consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership or complex, multi-country programs.

Job Purpose
Responsible to the Country Director, the Communication Officer, will serve HealthRight Kenya and HealthRight Regional Office ensuring alignment of internal and external communications to the organizational branding standards and guidelines.
Main Duties
Communications Strategy & Planning
- In liason with the senior Leadership team, support the implementation of country communications strategies aligned with HealthRight’s global and regional objectives.
- Work closely with the regional team to manage the online editorial calendar and to ensure the production of targeted, high-quality content for different platforms;
Content Development & Editorial Management
- Develop, edit, and disseminate high-quality content for websites, newsletters, press releases, marketing materials, human-interest stories, and reports in line with HealthRight standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of organizational publications including annual reports, corporate profiles, case studies, speeches, and submissions.
Digital, Social Media & Website Management
- Manage country-level social media platforms and produce engaging, interactive digital content.
- Maintain and regularly update country website content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, consistency, and alignment with HealthRight branding and messaging.
- Coordinate with technical teams to publish timely program updates, news, and resources on the website.
Media Relations & External Visibility
- Maintain up-to-date media contact databases and support proactive media engagement.
- Draft media materials, briefing notes, and key messages; respond to media inquiries in coordination with management.
- Support the production of visibility materials, including brochures, videos, photographs, and other multimedia products and deliberately enhance donor and organizational visibility.
Stakeholder, Events & Community Engagement
- Support stakeholder and partner engagement, including mapping and targeting external audiences.
- Assist in coordinating events, community outreach activities, and represent HealthRight externally when required.
Working Conditions/Environmental factors
- Works predominantly in the office with long periods of sitting usually influenced by the level of tasks.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, Journalism/ Public Relations
- Experience in digital communications, social media and community management, and of adapting messages to different audiences.
- Experience of website management, content management systems, and social media platforms.
- Experience in graphic design and audio-visual production are an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently, including producing quality communication material.
- Membership to a relevant Professional body like the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK)
Previous relevant work experience required.
- 3-4 years of work experience in the NGO or experience in the field of communications, knowledge management, and external relations, with proven track record of managing media platforms, website management, community management and social insight reporting.
- A creative problem solver who’s able to navigate complexity and ambiguity to get to the heart of and cultivate a great story.
- A seasoned media professional with relationships with tier-one media, and an ability to form new relationships.
- An experienced generalist who thinks about and drives Communications across channels, e.g., video, digital, social, internal and media.
- Strong understanding of the humanitarian and development context in Kenya;
- Strong writer and analytical reader, especially for deliverables to be developed for external stakeholders (e.g. donors & partners);
