We are looking for a confident, professional and results-driven B2B Business Development Specialist to join our team. This is a role for someone who understands corporate sales, knows how to open doors, build relationships and, most importantly, close businesses.
Key Responsibilities
As the Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Proactively identifying, sourcing and developing new B2B leads and business opportunities.
- Researching and targeting prospective corporate clients and key decision-makers.
- Initiating contact with prospective clients through calls, emails, networking, referrals and other business development channels.
- Securing and conducting meetings with corporate decision-makers.
- Understanding prospective clients’ business needs and positioning appropriate solutions.
- Preparing and delivering compelling presentations, proposals and commercial pitches.
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with prospective and existing corporate clients.
- Managing opportunities throughout the entire sales pipeline, from initial engagement to negotiation and closure.
- Following consistently on proposals and opportunities to improve conversion rates.
- Negotiating commercial engagements and successfully closing new business.
- Developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Growing the organisation’s corporate client portfolio and identifying opportunities for repeat and additional business.
- Consistently working towards agreed sales and revenue targets.
- Providing regular updates on prospects, pipeline development, client engagements and business won and contributing directly to the organisation’s overall revenue growth and market expansion.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should have:
- 3–5 years of proven B2B sales or business development experience, preferably within professional services, consulting or solution-based corporate sales.
- A demonstrated track record of winning new business, closing deals and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong prospecting and lead-generation capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and closing abilities.
- The confidence and professionalism required to engage senior executives, business owners and corporate decision-makers.
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop revenue opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
- A proactive, persistent and self-driven approach to business development.
- The discipline to independently manage a sales pipeline and follow opportunities through to closure.
- A strong results orientation and willingness to be accountable for measurable revenue outcomes.
- A university degree from an accredited university in Kenya.
