Role Purpose:

• To ensure the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of the hotel's daily revenue, while conducting the night audit to verify all financial transactions across hotel departments.
• The role ensures that discrepancies are identified and resolved, revenue is properly accounted for, and accurate financial reports are available for management review.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Ensure system rates match contractual and rack rates; verify banquet charges against agreed terms.
• Validate supporting documents for complimentary and house-use rooms.
• Confirm accurate recording of all guest and non-guest transactions across departments.
• Reconcile restaurant cash, M-Pesa, and credit card payments with relevant reports and documentation.
• Ensure proper supporting documentation for city ledger checkouts and validate bill transfers between accounts.
• Reconcile housekeeping and Front Office room statuses and generate discrepancy reports.
• Oversee timely billing, correct cashier errors, and ensure all expected departures are properly checked out.
• Close all open POS checks, compile daily cashbook summaries, and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Run and distribute night audit reports; raise audit queries and support additional audit tasks as required.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations; proficient in MS Office, i.e., Excel and Word, and hotel finance systems such as Micros, Opera, Materials Control, and SunSystems.
• Numbers-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a high attention to detail; capable of spreadsheet formulation and data analysis.
• Effective verbal and written communicator with the ability to interact professionally across departments and with guests.
• Maintains high standards of ethics and professionalism; able to manage difficult situations.
• Able to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proactive in identifying, flagging, and managing operational or financial issues.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
• At least CPA Part III.
• 2 years of working experience as a Night/Income Auditor in a 4-5-star hotel, preferably with an international brand.

Role Purpose:

• To control hotel costs, inventories, stores, and food and beverage costing while ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and effective cost-saving measures.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Supervise Cost Control and Stores operations, ensuring compliance with procedures and standards.
• Monitor stock levels, purchasing, receiving, storage, issuing. recording, and re-ordering.
• Conduct inventories, spot checks, reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare cost control reports, including variances, slow- moving stock, and month-end inventory information.
• Maintain food and beverage recipes, menu costs, selling prices, and usage controls.
• Safeguard inventory against waste, spoilage, damage, and theft.
• Conduct market surveys and support Purchasing with pricing and availability information.
• Supervise, train, and appraise Cost Control and Stores staff.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process Improvements.
• Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned by Finance management.

• Strong understanding of hotel cost control, inventory management, and food and beverage costing principles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, analyze variances, and make informed decisions.

• High degree of professionalism, ethics, integrity, and accountability.
• Proactive and observant, with the ability to identify operational risks and recommend improvements.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, stocktaking. reconciliation, and cost-saving practices.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel systems such as Opera and Materials Control.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable Cost Control role within a hotel environment.
• Previous experience in a 4-5-star hotel, preferably with an international brand, would be an advantage.
• Experience with hotel systems such as Materials Control, Opera/PMS, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be willing to undergo the required medical tests and obtain a Food Handler Certificate in accordance with applicable Kenyan requirements.
