    Assistant Information and Communications Technology Officer

    DUTIES / JOB DETAILS
    The incumbent will carry out the following functions:

    • Provide first and second-line technical hardware and software support, involving the installation, configuration, administration, documentation, and maintenance of systems and associated equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices)
    • Assist in-house users with all aspects of ICT facilities and resources.
    • Manage and monitor data backups.
    • Help develop and maintain ICT documentation, processes, and procedures.
    • Manage and monitor the ICT inventory.
    • Liaise with external suppliers/vendors of ICT equipment, software, and services, to ensure appropriate service, support, and guidance.
    • Participate in ICT projects, making technical input, and participating when required as a full-time project team member.
    • Keep up to date with technological changes in the ICT industry, and develop new skills in response to these, and in accordance with the Company’s ICT strategy.
    • Manage data and other information resources of the Company with the highest levels of professionalism, competence, diligence, and confidentiality.
    • Participate in developing and providing required routine and ad-hoc reports, and in developing and deploying applications, within established company policies and procedures.
    • To be courteous, patient, and tactful always, and to exercise the highest standards of customer care.
    • To take full responsibility for assignments, working largely without direct supervision, and managing and prioritizing own workload
    • To take on the lead ICT role in the absence of the ICT Manager

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Computer Science/Information Technology/relevant field
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in IT support/operations role
    • Additional relevant professional IT qualifications will be an added advantage.
    • Relevant Working Exposure in a Multicultural Environment will be an added advantage.

    Applicants must also be:

    • Fluent in English and/or French, and having a working knowledge in the second language shall be an added advantage.

    Claims Officer

    DUTIES / JOB DETAILS
    Under the supervision of the Head of Claims, the incumbent will carry out the following functions:

    • Review, processing, and settlement of claims per under Group Claims Underwriting Manual.
    • Preparation of claims memos for supervisor approval and follow up with Finance team to ensure timely settlement per internal turnaround times.
    • Review and acknowledge claims notification received from cedants and brokers.
    • Maintain proper records of all claims notification and follow up to logical conclusion.
    • Keep an audit trail of all reported claims.
    • Respond promptly and accurately to cedants and brokers queries.
    • Prompt processing of reported reinsurance claims recoveries and ensure reinsurance shares are correctly calculated.
    • Prepare claims files for management review and approvals.
    • Provide and deliver quality services to cedants and brokers.
    • Promptly process and monitor the development of the outstanding claims provision.
    • Generate and prepare progress claims reports (monthly/quarterly/annual) and any other management claim reports from the business objects reporting module of SICs system.
    • Prompt request of claims supporting documents from cedants and brokers such as policy wordings, adjuster’s reports, cession bordereaux, debit notes etc.
    • Review and timely processing of Cash Calls, as well as manage the follow up and reconciliation of cash call credit refunds.
    • Review, recommendation, and processing of loss reserves.
    • Review and flagging off contentious claims issues to supervisor such as wrong cessions to treaty/facultative contracts, liability attachment etc.
    • Maintenance of notified claims lists report and follow up with clients for reserves updates and documentation.
    • Review, monitoring, and processing of reinstatement premiums as well as maintenance of reports.
    • Monitoring and validation of adjustment premiums for prior years and following up to ensure they have been processed timeously.
    • Assistance on reconciliation of accounts on claims with outstanding premiums.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • University Degree in any discipline related to the role, plus a minimum of 5 years’ practical work experience - particularly in claims management.
    • Relevant work experience in a claims department of a reinsurance company or reinsurance and/or claims department of an insurance company is a must.
    • Relevant Professional Qualification would be an added advantage.
    • Relevant Working Exposure in a Multicultural Environment will be an added advantage.

    Assistant Manager - Underwriting & Marketing

    DUTIES / JOB DETAILS
    Under the supervision of the Assistant Director Underwriting and Marketing (ADUM), the incumbent will carry out the following functions:

    • Soliciting and receiving treaty offers from existing and potential clients, assessing such offers when received and determining whether to accept them in line with the Corporation’s underwriting policies/guidelines.
    • Preparing renewal and new business quotation proposals to cedants and brokers.
    • Maintaining proper records of all business offers and transactions received and concluded.
    • Attending client correspondence, social and business functions, and other related activities for overall marketing effectiveness.
    • Reviewing facultative acceptances regularly ahead of renewal and reviewing treaty acceptances annually ahead of renewal.
    • Ensuring that all the treaties and facultative contracts are processed, and the cover notes/slips/wordings signed and sent out to cedants or brokers.
    • Monitoring the profitability of markets serviced and monitoring progress towards the achievement of income targets in the assigned markets.
    • Paying market visits regularly for new businesses and for the renewal of existing business as well as for obtaining market statistics and other relevant information for the Corporation’s strategic and operational use.
    • Assist in reviewing and monitoring the proper processing of all technical transactions.
    • Assist in ensuring all claims reports, cash calls request and other claims supporting documentation are timely processed for a prompt settlement of genuine claims.
    • Ensuring pre and follow-up risk surveys are carried out and risk improvement recommendations given to the cedants are implemented.
    • Providing training, advice and other forms of technical support to both staff and clients on a regular basis.
    • Assisting, if necessary, Finance & Technical accounts in reviewing the reconciliation of cedants’ and brokers’ accounts
    • Chasing outstanding amounts due from cedants and brokers while also ensuring timely remittance of amounts due to them.
    • Prepare periodic management reports in collaboration with staffs’ in the regional office.
    • Attending to other duties as may be assigned by the Corporation or management from time to time.
    • Follow up on salvages with clients.
    • Ability to train subordinates on claims processes.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • First University Degree in relevant fields plus 5 years post qualification relevant qualitative work experience with emphasis on reinsurance underwriting (both Treaty and Facultative); reinsurance pricing; claims management, risk survey and assessment.

    OR

    • First University Degree in relevant fields plus Masters’ Degree and/or full Insurance/Reinsurance/Actuarial Professional Qualification, plus 3 years post qualification relevant qualitative work experience with emphasis on reinsurance underwriting (both treaty and Facultative); reinsurance pricing; claims management, risk survey and assessment.
    • Relevant Professional Qualification (ACII or Equivalent) would be an added advantage.
    • Post Graduate Degree in insurance would be an added advantage.
    • Relevant Work Experience in a Reinsurance company would be an added advantage.
    • Relevant Working Exposure in a Multicultural Environment will be an added advantage.
