Responsibilities of the Board:

• Approve the Board’s Strategic Plan and Budget.
• Oversight Administration of Revenue collection.
• Formulate and implement strategies to maximize collections from all revenue streams in the County.
• Supervise and monitor performance of staff of the Board; 
• Ensure the Board complies with Laws and Codes.
• Identify the risk areas and oversee risk management with regard to revenue collection
• Establish partnerships towards the goal of revenue maximization; 
• Represent the interest of the County Government of Kisumu.
• Any other relevant responsibilities that may be assigned.

Qualification for Appointment as Chairperson or Member of the Board:

• A person shall be qualified for appointment as a Chairperson or Member of the Board under Section 5 (a) and (e) of the Act, if that person is1. A citizen of Kenya
• Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University;
• Has knowledge and qualification in matters relating to Accountancy, Commerce, Law, Taxation, Business Administration or Public Administration
• In the case of Chairperson of the Board, hold a Degree in Finance, Management and Leadership or any other relevant qualification from a University recognized in Kenya and at least 7 years’ relevant experience in Leadership and Management of public or private institution.
• In the case of a Member of the Board, holds at least a Degree from a University recognized in Kenya and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in Leadership, Management, Finance or any other relevant qualifications.
• Demonstrates understanding of Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010).

Terms of Service:

• The Chairperson and Member of the Board shall hold office for a period of Three (3) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further term of Three years.
• Chairperson and Members of the Board shall be paid such allowances as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
