    Deputy Team Leader-Programme - Humanitarian Surge Team

    About the role

    We are currently looking for a Deputy Team Leader-Programme to join our team. eputy Team Leader-Programme will lead on and be accountable for developing a sound response strategy and coherent programmes; and identifying resources in line with Save the Children national and global priorities. The post holder will play a leading role in the effective scale up in complement to existing local capacity and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children.

    You will bring to the role with you:

    • Extensive experience of working within a senior management role within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state.
    • Previous experience of managing programme teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential.
    • Experience of managing multi-donor, multi-site programmes (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA) of GBP 5 – 10m, preferably in insecure contexts.

    Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a must.

    • supporting ongoing emergency response and recovery work through providing advice, guidance and expertise in a specific skill area; 
    • providing short term interim cover for country office staff;  
    • supporting delivery of capacity building initiatives.

    Response Team Leader - Humanitarian Surge Team

    About the role

    We are currently looking for a Response Team Leader to join our team. The Response Team Leader is responsible for identifying needs and resources and elaborating programmatic, operational, strategic and leadership recommendations for the emergency response in line with Save the Children national and global priorities. The post-holder will develop and manage programmes or country support functions and negotiate and network at an international level. They will ensure that all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding, safety and security, code of conduct, equal opportunities and other relevant policies are in place. The post holder will play a leading role in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children.

    You will bring to the role with you:

    • Experience of working in first or second phase sudden onset emergencies in a senior management role. 
    • Extensive experience of working within a senior management role and within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state setting; and/or extensive experience of setting up responses in out of area contexts (either where no SC presence or CO presence); and/or extensive experience of working in high income contexts.
    • Senior management experience of leading a diverse, multi-function and/or multi-sector team at a Country Director or other relevant SMT level.

    Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a must.

    Operations Manager - Humanitarian Surge Team

    About the role

    We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager can be deployed as Field Manager for a large field base or area either at the beginning or the second phase of a large emergency. They will be expected to lead on all aspects of managing large or multiple field bases including management of programmes / projects of various sizes and complexities, budget development and management, agency coordination and representation at field level, security, logistics, awards management, including management of multiple teams. The post holder will play a key role in building capacity at field level, and in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children.  

    You will bring to the role with you:

    • Prior experience working in an emergency response contexts or fragile states.
    • Recognized management role in relevant technical areas at both field and country level.
    • Good analytical skills. Effective negotiator, with the ability to positively influence cross departmental and cross sector working.

    Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a must.

    Deputy Team Leader-Operations - Humanitarian Surge Team

    About the role

    We are currently looking for a Deputy Team Leader-Operations to join our team. The Deputy Team Leader-Operations will effectively and efficiently coordinate operations systems, processes and activities so that programmes are delivered on time according to organisational strategy, operational plans, donor requirements and within allocated budgets. They will take leadership on aspects related to management of the field offices’ structures and, dependent on size and structure of the response will include the management of other relevant programme delivery departments, such as security, logistics and fleet/transport systems, awards management. The post holder will play a strategic role in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children. May also take on the role of response Team Leader in small or medium scale emergencies where s/he will be responsible for all aspects of the emergency response.  

    You will bring to the role with you:

    • Extensive experience of working within a senior management role within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state; and/or extensive experience of setting up responses in out of area contexts (either where no SC presence or CO presence); and/or extensive experience of working in high income contexts.
    • Previous experience of managing programme teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential.
    • Experience of managing multi-donor, multi-site, multi-sector programmes (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA) Security management experience across a large programme.Demonstrated ability to set up operational management systems in a large complex programme.

    Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a must.
