    Pharmaceutical Technologists

    Role Summary
    Provide outstanding professional pharmaceutical services to all clients.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • receive prescriptions from Clinicians and dispense drugs to patients in a timely, safe and accurate manner;
    • Ensure an outstanding client experience;
    • Ensure efficient pharmacy service flow by managing turn-around time;
    • Proactively address and follow up client concerns and provide timely feedback;
    • Ensuring correct entry of data into the system and registers provided;
    • Implementing quality assurance programs at the department;
    • Ensure the pharmacy is well stocked with the required pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals and avoiding overstocking i.e. stock management;
    • Lead, organize and plan performance of the pharmacy to provide efficient services at all times;

    Hospitality Services Supervisor

    Role Summary

    The position is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating all activities in the Hospitality Department while delivering high quality, cost effective and timely provision of housekeeping, catering, laundry, and maintenance and renovations services.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure the smooth running of the catering (food and beverage), housekeeping and laundry operations.
    • Supervise, train and develop hospitality services staff – housekeepers, maintenance hospital chefs and waiters.
    • Anticipate client needs (internal and external) and respond to concerns, ensuring an outstanding client experience.
    • Negotiate & agree to service agreements and oversee providers of services including fresh produce grocers, housekeeping, security, laundry, hospital linen, waste management, maintenance artisans etc.
    • Supervise the maintenance of a safe, tidy and hygienic working and clinical environment through general cleanliness and implementation of policies and practices.
    • Inspect patients’ rooms, common areas, offices, work stations, waiting areas, procedure rooms and sluice rooms to ensure that standards of cleanliness, 5’s of a quality healthcare environment, infection control and health and safety are upheld.
    • Ensure waste management and disposal as per infection control policy.
    • Ensure hospital linen are frequently cleaned, replenished and repaired when necessary.
    • Ensure adequate housekeeping supplies.
    • Liaise with the Nutritionist and Chefs to develop well balanced menus to meet changing clients’ needs.
    • Ensure high hygiene standards in food preparation and service for zero infection.
    • Ensure provision of timely meals as per the set time schedules.
    • Ensuring portion control and correct pricing for profitability.
    • Estimating food consumption to avoid under/over production to ensure cost efficiency and sales.
    • Maintain inventory and ensure availability of linen, admission supplies, utilities, kitchen cutlery and utensils.
    • Avoid wastage by deploying and using resources optimally and applying stock controls.
    • Ensure regular fumigation in the facility.
    • Ensure proper function of the hospital facilities and utilities through identification of areas requiring attention and timely coordination of maintenance and renovations, artisan and water and sanitation works.
    • Represent the Hospitality Services Department in inter-departmental hospital meetings, including preparing and submitting reports on the operations of the department.
    • Assist in the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a record of relevant contracts and licenses and ensure renewal within applicable timelines.
    • Develop comprehensive duty rotas to ensure 24hr coverage of the service units.

    Healthcare Assistant

    Role Summary

    The role holder assists nurses and doctors in carrying out their duties towards patients, and provides friendly, courteous and reasonable non-medical care in emergency situations, in the ward, theatre, outpatient, hospitality and housekeeping areas.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work closely with supervising nurse or doctor for an outstanding client experience • Transport/move patients within the hospital via stretcher, wheelchair etc.
    • Provide patient comfort by assisting with routine personal care activities e.g. serve and eat meals, bathe or clean up, dress, use of the toilet etc.
    • Provide patient comfort by assisting patients to safely turn, reposition, get in and out of bed, transfer between beds and wheelchairs, and lift on or off examination tables
    • Listen to patients’ health and service concerns and report the information to supervising nurse or doctor
    • Assist nurses in bed making and ensuring all patients have a clean environment
    •  Collect and efficiently deliver clean hospital linen, patient uniforms and staff clothes
    • Assist in the collection and efficient delivery of parcels, specimens, blood products etc.
    • Assist with the physical restraint of combative patients
    • Participate in Infection Control Programs, health talks and soft skills development trainings

    Registered Nurse

    Role Summary

    Establish a compassionate environment by providing high-quality clinical care as well as physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, friends and families. Successful candidates will work in the Outpatient Department, Maternity Ward, General Ward and Theatre.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain the highest possible standard of client care by adhering to the hospital standard treatment protocols and guidelines, and collaborating with doctors and multidisciplinary team members to meet patient care goals;
    • Ensure an outstanding client experience through effective triage, nursing care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and monitoring and evaluation of patient outcomes;
    • Administer medication and perform medical procedures within prevailing nursing guidelines and protocols;
    • Direct patients to relevant clinics and services, facilitate patients’ admission and discharge process and coordinate referral plans;
    • Schedule patients and provide appropriate health care services in various clinics including ante-natal care, post-natal care, well baby and immunization, family planning and other Consultant and Specialist clinics;
    • Provide comprehensive health education and counselling on reproductive health, HIV, child care, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), vaccination, nutrition, health screening amongst other services with a view to promote the understanding of diseases, medications, and self-care skills;
    • Follow through investigations and procedures ordered by Doctors in outpatient and during ward rounds;
    • Maintain patient records by diligently completing all documentation on patient health condition and care, filing charts, x-ray films, laboratory results etc. while keeping information confidential;
    • Achieve financial objectives by utilizing available resources, using medical equipment correctly and promptly billing for services offered;
    • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations;
    • Maintain a safe, tidy and clean working and clinical environment by following the stipulated 5s of a quality healthcare environment as well as nursing guidelines including preparing, installing and sterilising medical equipment;
    • Update inventories daily and ensure maintenance and availability of medical equipment in the hospital;
    • Professionally and timely prepare and present regular nursing reports;
    • Assist in the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures e.g. infection prevention;
    • Adequately prepare and participate in health talks, presentations, Continuous Medical Education (CME) events etc.;
    • Participate in clinical audits;
    • The In-charge shall develop comprehensive nurses’ duty rosters to ensure 24hr coverage of the Hospital;
    • The In-charge shall work closely with their immediate supervisor to coordinate CME events, health talks, outreach activities & wellness activities.

    • At least three (3) years relevant and all-rounded work experience in Nursing (Outpatient, Maternity, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Theatre) in a busy hospital.
    • Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Valid Nursing Practice License.
    • Valid competency in BLS, ACLS, ETAT+ and Emoc will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
    • Certificate of Good Conduct.
