    Sector Head, Energy & Infrastructure

    Job Description

    • To implement, enable, scale, entrench, engage and commercialize the Energy and Infrastructure  value proposition and business life journeys in country in collaboration with other Segments, Client Solutions, Engineering and country stakeholders through the client engagement platforms. Accountable for the achievement of the sector financial and non-financial metrics (e.g. client attrition/acquisition, profit growth and return on investment, etc.) in line with Business and Commercial Clients, Country requirements in close collaboration with other segment heads and Client Solutions.
    • Drive and entrench a consistent client experience through all engagement platforms.
    • Implement and monitor risk management across client coverage (e.g., operational risk, credit risk, ecosystems risk and partner risk management). Implement the client value proposition in country with approved customizations.
    • Inspire the team to deliver on the Group's shared purpose and, specifically relating to the energy transition across Africa.
    • Drive Energy & Infrastructure strategy with focus on acquisition of new to bank names in line with the bank strategy of dominating the energy sector.

    Qualifications

    Experience Required

    8-10 years
    Corporate Banking/ Business & Commercial Banking

    • Experience in the Energy & Infrastructure domain and development and implementation of a Energy & Infrastructure client value proposition. deep understanding of downstream oil and gas sector as well as the renewable energy sector across the region.
    • Experience in Energy & Infrastructure advisory, deal structuring and in depth understanding of structured trade finance and related product offerings within the energy sector.
    • Exposure to and demonstrated understanding of Credit Risk Management frameworks and related is crucial.
    • Strong understanding of digital, open banking and platform integrations.
    • Strong and established networks within the energy and infrastructure sector including relevant regulatory Government and industry bodies. (Ministry of Energy & Petroleum, Petroleum Institute of East Africa, EPRA )

    Manager, Relationship, Africa China Desk

    Job Description

    To grow and retain client relationships as per China Banking segment/sector portfolio  To execute on the segment/sector offering, related toolbox(es), initiatives and activities aimed at optimising both client experience and profitability for the bank.

    The role requires close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across the client value chain to effectively address client needs. A deep understanding of the client’s holistic requirements is essential to deliver comprehensive solutions that extend beyond traditional banking—leveraging ecosystems and strategic partnerships. The jobholder must exhibit leader-led behaviors and provide clear direction to support the successful transformation of the Africa China Banking sector into a future-fit business model. Additionally, the role demands a nuanced appreciation of the complexities inherent in Chinese businesses, including cultural, political, and trade dynamics, to navigate the evolving landscape effectively.

    Identify new business opportunities and expands opportunities across existing client base, in order to achieve defined financial budgets for the allocated portfolio, through optimal growth of assets and liabilities, transactional, margin management and revenue streams in line with agreed targets.

    Frequently source feedback from the client on their experience and service levels and address areas of concern, as a matter of priority in collaboration with appropriate business units

    Relationship Manager, Agribusiness

    Job Description

    • To grow and retain client relationships as per Agribusiness sector portfolio. To execute on the sector offering, related toolbox(es), initiatives and activities aimed at optimising both client experience and profitability for the bank.
    • Double up as Agribusiness Specialist for the sector - Continuously source relevant market information and key trends in which clients operate, to enable proactive information sharing with the client and the rest of the team.  Ensure a deep understanding of the Agribusiness client requirements through regular value-adding interactions with clients.
    • Managing the Client Analyst to ensure that work standards and quality work output targets are set, achieved and maintained. Proactively coaching and mentoring subordinates and managing the performance contribution of support staff.
    • Relationship management experience as a Business Banker or Relationship Manager. Experience in dealing with customers at all levels. Significant product knowledge including specialised products and financial structures. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and client financial analysis. Experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications is essential.
