    Solutions Developer (Business Intelligence) (5 Positions)

    ROLE PURPOSE

    Working with members of the global IT team, the role holder will be responsible for building, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence (BI) solutions within the organisation. This role will partner with business stakeholders in order to understand their analytic requirements, and implement and maintain BI solutions to meet these needs, utilising best practices. The role requires experience in adapting existing solutions as well as creating new solutions.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

    • Provide the organisation with accurate and timely BI solutions based on requirements gathered through business partnering activities
    • Maintain and support existing BI solutions
    • Proactively source new and innovative solutions that provide clear business value and construct ‘proof of concepts’ to demonstrate the new solutions
    • Proactively identify any technical project risks/issues related to BI
    • Estimate and deliver BI project tasks to agreed prioritisation and timeframes
    • Support the IT Service Delivery team with the BI reporting environment
    • Assist product owners in designing, agreeing, implementing and managing changes to the BI environment
    • Maintain accurate technical documentation
    • Communicate data and insights

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Experience of working with SQL Server databases, including creating & modifying T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, writing ad-hoc queries and dynamic SQL
    • Proven understanding of Data Modelling and Analytics
    • Experience of working with Microsoft’s BI technology stack SSIS, SSRS, SSAS (tabular model), Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Excel.
    • Experience of working closely with non-technical staff, demonstrating an ability to translate and negotiate non-technical requirements into a detailed technical specification
    • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex technical ideas and problems clearly to non-experts
    • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and strong problem solving skills
    • Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally
    • Experience maintaining source control in Git
    • Strong experience with various Software Development Life cycles (SDLC) methodologies: Agile or Standard waterfall initiatives
    • Proven experience working with various Project Management practices and disciplines
    • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to augment a close working relationship with cross functional teams
    • A history of designing and implementing reporting solutions that are both functional and engaging

    Projects-on-track Data Analyst

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    As a movement Save the Children generates information that is used for multiple purposes, including to prioritise and improve our decision making, This because in a results-driven organization, we need to have immediate visibility of where we risk not delivering intended results for children, prompting corrective action. We need to frame management reviews around a timely understanding of whether or not our work is on track to achieve its intended results for children in our projects.

    One key tool to enable this results-based management decision making is “Projects-on-track”. The purpose of the projects-on-track indicators is to track progress and effectiveness of our projects and use this for management decision making. It measures achievement of project outputs vs targets (i.e. “are we doing what we said we would do?”) and achievement of project outcomes vs targets (i.e. “are we effective, making a difference to children’s lives as expected?”). 

    This role will support the global gathering and analysis of the Projects-on-track indicator data. Working with functional experts from across the movement, this role will be responsible to collect, enter, quality control, analyse and present data on how our projects are on track to deliver their intended outputs and outcomes. This is a short-term role to boost coverage of Projects on Track data ahead of automation with the PRIME management information system over 2022-24.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain user-friendly management information systems, ensuring continuous improvements and working effectively with both service users and IT teams
    • Strong data analysis skills and proficient in Excel, SharePoint, Power Apps and Power BI
    • Experience of managing content on intranet type systems
    • Demonstrated data entry, analysis and processing skills, and ability to establish and document efficient workflows for this
    • Familiarity with monitoring and results management systems, preferably in an international development context, including use of logframes and IPTTs across diverse interventions
    •  High attention to detail and ability to effectively manage a high volume of qualitative and quantitative data and information
    • Highly organized and strong task management, ability to plan ahead and prioritise competing tasks.

    Head of Digital Solutions

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    The Head of Digital Solutions sits within the Digital Programming team at Save the Children International, which is responsible for leading the digital transformation of our work with children. This forms a central pillar of our strategy to deliver a greater impact to far more children in the 120 countries in which we work. The Digital Programming team is putting in place the processes, platforms, tools and resources that enable Save the Children staff to design, deliver and scale safe, high quality digital programmes.

    The Head of Digital Solutions is responsible for identifying 3rd party solutions to specific strategic challenges and ensuring that we partner effectively to bring these to scale. An example might be introducing a clinical decision support tool for frontline healthcare workers. With responsibility for defining our roadmap and ensuring the successful introduction, adoption and usage of these solutions, this role will play a central, highly visible role in achieving our ambitious goals for 2030.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Extensive product leadership experience across the full product lifecycle
    • Experience of implementing digital solutions in a range of humanitarian and/or development settings
    • Highly developed organisational awareness and ability to understand any sensitivities within a complex multi-stakeholder structure; and think creatively and strategically to overcome obstacles to cooperation and progress

    The Project Manager is responsible for implementing a suite of tools that local teams will depend on for the effective delivery of a wide range of digital programmes across different thematic areas (including health, education and child protection). The initial focus will be on delivering messaging platforms that can support a number of use cases like bite-sized learning, social behaviour change communications and feedback.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Extensive track record of successfully managing a programme or project in software development and implementation.
    • Proven experience of using and leading change management activities including change impact assessment, stakeholder management, managing resistance, building change capacity, designing and defining roles and responsibilities.
    • Proficient demonstrable skills in managing and reporting complex projects within a Portfolio Office/PMO structure
    • Proven ability to deliver projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance
    • Comprehensive management and influencing skills with experience of working with senior level executives
    • Ability to resolve issues swiftly and decisively whilst safeguarding standards and procedures
    • Strong team leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and mobilise individuals outside their reporting line

    Content Manager (Digital Programming Guide)

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    The Content Manager sits within the Digital Programming team at Save the Children International, which is responsible for leading the digital transformation of our work with children. This forms a central pillar of our strategy to deliver a greater impact to far more children in the 118 countries in which we work.

    The Digital Programming team is putting in place the processes, platforms, tools and resources that enable Save the Children staff to design, deliver and scale safe, high quality digital programmes. One such resource is the Digital Programming Guide which will act as an interactive, one-stop repository for Country Offices and Members.

    This role will be focused on developing, managing and refreshing the content that makes up the Digital Programming Guide. You will work closely with internal subject matter experts and external agencies to generate and source content, as well as editing and writing your own content, where appropriate.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Several years of relevant content / communications experience - extensive experience in the development of digital content for a range of channels
    • Very strong writing skills - proven track record of developing written content for publication
    • Excellent editing skills - demonstrable expertise when it comes to adapting content to meet audience needs
    • Good collaboration and partnership skills - experience in commissioning 3rd parties to deliver content within project constraints
    • Experience in project managing multiple work-streams and stakeholders with the ability to prioritise effectively
    • Significant experience of developing digital experiences using best practice user experience design principles
    • Experience in managing a website
    • Experience of managing third-party suppliers effectively
    • Innovative and able to adapt to changing situations and able to apply technical and professional expertise and work effectively with others
