    Job Description

    • Fixing and removing casts, bandages to and from patients;
    • Correcting Congenital Talipes Equino – Venous (T.E.V).
    • Participating in managing of minor Orthopaedic and Trauma cases in emergencies and accidents.

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Job Description

    • Receive, verify prescriptions and dispense drugs in a timely manner within approved standards and procedures.
    • Contact the physician immediately for inaccuracy and illegibility in a prescription order, document errors and communicate them to the nursing and other pharmacy staff.
    • Verify expiry dates of drugs prior to dispensing medication to clients.
    • Check that every label placed on the medications contains the correct patient’s name, drug, quantity and directions.
    • Compound extemporaneous preparations and mix certain intravenous medications as per laid down procedures.
    • Counsel patients on drug administration and use of devices for optimum wellness and recovery.
    • Receive, return and update drug credits on the system in a timely manner.
    • Deliver drug discharges to patients in the ward where applicable.
    • Communicate out of stock and non-stock effectively and timely to prescriber and nurse and provide alternative choice or make arrangements to order promptly.
    • Comply and observe the environmental health and safety measures and regulations by proper handling, storage and dispensation of medications 
    • Record, monitor and update the expiry list of medications in timely manner.
    • Conduct nursing floor inspections once a month for all ward stock, solutions and patient medication left behind.
    • Complete documentation of Interventions, Medication errors and Near Miss, Adverse events, Medication queries, Patient complaints or any other incidents and forward to relevant office.
    • Perform random medication checks daily and Monitor variance levels.
    • Compile daily reports.
    • Report any special indicators allocated.
    • Maintain and update personal drug knowledge data base to ensure accurate provision of pharmaceutical care of general disease states as well as specialized knowledge in the assigned area of expertise
    • Participate in educational activities and departmental meetings.

    • Assist the In charge to place orders for stock replenishment to the Procurement department in order to maintain optimal stock levels. 
    • Participates in regular drug expiry monitoring in the pharmacy to identify and document items with expiry of less than the required duration of time allowed. 

    Requirements

    • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
    • Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
    • Proficient in computer applications

    Registered Clinical Officer

    Job Description

    • Provide comprehensive and high-quality clinical services including (Take/review the patient’s history to ascertain the right clinical examinations and treatment and prescription of treatment) to patients.
    • Order investigation and interpretation of results for diagnosis and explain the results to the patients and the intended treatment.
    • Diagnose and institute appropriate treatment, write prescriptions, and carry out other treatment activities while ensuring that established treatment protocols are effectively followed.
    • Attend to emergencies presenting to the hospital and recommend referrals for cases that cannot be managed.

    • Ensure effective clinical procedures, rules, regulations which are consistent with the hospital’sprocedures.
    • When necessary, arrange for patient referrals or consultations for specialty or higher-level management.
    • Participate in outreaches or other activities such as health talks or community programs.
    • Handle patient data/ information confidentially at all times.
    • Prepare the weekly plans/schedules and reports.
    • Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
    • Document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate and complete medical records.
    • Actively participate in clinical training programs, including on-job training and skills building.

    Qualifications

    • Be a holder of Diploma in Clinical Medicine from KMTC or other Institution recognized by the Kenya Clinical Officers Council

    Job Description 

    • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information

    Qualifications

    • A degree in Bachelors of Commerce / Business Administration Accounting or Finance from a recognized university.
    • At least 2 years experience in carrying out finance functions.
    • A person of integrity with excellent analytical and report-writing skills.

    Nurses

    Job Description 

    1. Assess, plan implement nursing interventions and evaluate patients’ outcome.
    2. Prepare and perform several procedures such as dressing wounds and provide first aid to patients in case of emergencies.

    Electrical Engineer

    Job Description 

    • Review electrical plans and specifications in order to understand the construction layout and related materials for electrical and electronics works in the Hospital and its Facilities.
    • Implement all electrical and electric systems and equipment installation, modification, repair and maintenance.
    • Ensure all electrical installation, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and environmental safety and protection requirement.
    • Change, repair and modify building electrical systems, wiring, fittings and appliances to suit end user interests.
    • Identify and requisition the required tools, equipment and materials needed for use in electrical and electronics work.
    • Perform scheduled general maintenance service on electrical wiring, systems equipment and appliances in the Hospital.
    • Implement all electrical and electronics installation, maintenance and user requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixture.
    • Undertake repairs, performance verification testing, acceptance testing, planned preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing on electrical equipment.
    • Inspect all Distribution Boxes for safety purposes.
    • Assist in scheduling and undertaking periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations.
    • Assist Provide prompt response to breakdowns, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
    • Working closely with the Biomedical Engineer in ensuring that equipment are in good working order so as to prevent disruption of services.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics and or its equivalent from a reputable institution
    • Minimum of five (3) years relevant working experience
    • Experience working in a hospital setup will be an added advantage

    Chef

    Job Description 

    • Plans meal and snack menus in accordance with patients’ medical conditions which meet the nutritional needs of the patients and provide food variety and appeal as well as reflecting the ethnic diversity of patients at the hospital.
    • Consults with the nutritionist regarding menu plans.
    • Order for all food and kitchen household supplies within budget guidelines and economically; monitor food expenditures; and ensure what is supplied are of the right quantity and quality.
    • The chefs will receive goods together with the procurement officer and accountant for verification of order received.
    • Maintains food and kitchen household supplies by receiving and storing deliveries in hygienic and organized conditions and monitoring stock; rotates food stock to ensure quality; keeps accurate stock control for record-keeping purposes. 
    • Working closely with the Cateress to ensure that proper stock of utilities is in their custody and ensure that timely requisition of stock is done through the Matron.
    • Provides meals and snacks daily by preparing food for serving on a timely manner.
    • Maintains hygiene standards as defined under the Food Premises Act; keeps kitchen, cupboard, kitchen equipment and food storage areas clean and organized by cleaning pots, counters, equipment and dishes; maintaining equipment.
    • Recommends budget priorities for kitchen equipment purchases through the Matron.
    • To collect plates, cups, spoons, thermos after 30 minutes of food service.

    Qualifications

    • A diploma/certificate course in Food and beverages technology.
    • Must have strong analytical and communication skills, excellent leadership qualities.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Compassionate with honesty and integrity
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Computer literate
