    Grants & Foundations Manager

    Role Description

    • As the Grants and Foundations Manager, you will be part of Still I Rise’s fundraising team. You will be responsible for managing the process of obtaining grants and funding from foundations, grants, philanthropic organizations, and other charitable entities.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Funding Opportunities Research and Identification: Conduct in-depth research to identify potential grants and funding opportunities from foundations and philanthropic organizations that align with Still I Rise’s mission and programs.
    • Funding Proposal Development: Create persuasive, comprehensive, and coherent funding proposals that highlight the impact of Still I Rise’s programs and meet the specific requirements of foundations and charitable entities.
    • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, including foundations, philanthropic organizations, and other entities, to develop long-term partnerships.
    • Monitoring and Reporting: Track the outcomes of received funding, ensuring the proper implementation of funded programs, and providing regular reporting and accountability to donors in accordance with established requirements.
    • Compliance and Administration: Ensure that all funding activities comply with the guidelines of foundations and charitable entities, and that financial reports are managed accurately and timely.
    • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with fundraising team members and other departments at Still I Rise to ensure effective management of fundraising activities and smooth communication regarding opportunities and challenges.
    • Industry Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on trends and best practices in the nonprofit funding sector, particularly regarding grants and funding from foundations and philanthropic organizations.
    • Grant Applications: Manage the application process for funding opportunities, including research, analysis of requirements, and preparation of applications in accordance with the guidelines provided by foundations, philanthropic organizations, and other charitable entities.
    • Time Management: Adhere to deadlines for submitting funding applications and ensure proper planning for internal review and approval stages.
    • Review and Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of funding applications to ensure accuracy of information, consistency of responses, and overall quality of applications.

    Essential Skills & Requirements

    • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing grants and funding from foundations or philanthropic organizations, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
    • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the nonprofit funding sector, including best practices for grant research, funding proposal development, and donor relationship management.
    • Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to create persuasive funding proposals with clear, compelling, and error-free writing.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret funder guidelines and evaluate the suitability of funding opportunities for Still I Rise.
    • Research Skills: Proficiency in researching and analyzing funding opportunities, including the ability to identify appropriate grants and understand selection criteria.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively manage and coordinate multiple applications simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy and completeness of required information.
    • Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to new funding opportunities and requirements, demonstrating flexibility and rapid learning capabilities.

    Teacher Training & Outreach Content Creator

    • The selected candidate will remotely be in close contact with our schools and classrooms to collect useful key information about best practices that they will then showcase in our training materials, projects and other pieces of communication. The person will be responsible to effectively communicate the Still I Rise educational model to a variety of audiences. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Remotely observing classes in our schools, reviewing documents and attending regular calls in order to be fully informed about current on-site practice.
    • In close liaison with departmental colleagues, preparing a suite of diverse, dynamic and learner-centred virtual teacher training courses by writing content and adapting existing material. Topics of the courses will range widely, including inquiry-based learning, inclusion of children from vulnerable backgrounds and mentor-teaching.
    • Creating and updating content for Insieme, a student-facing virtual programme of workshops held in hundreds of schools across Italy. Translation of material may be provided if writing content in English.
    • Tracking feedback forms and monitoring Insieme registrations in order to continually improve the programme.
    • Preparing informational material about Still I Rise and approaching school leaders so that they may opt to implement their own initiatives inspired by elements of our educational Model.
    • Be the department’s point of contact for our 'donor care' team by providing them with up-to-date qualitative information about our activities.
    • Other associated activities requested by the Chief Schools Officer

    Essential Skills & Requirements

    • Capacity to quickly absorb on-the-ground practices via remote calls, remote observation of classes and reviewing of documentation, and to then communicate our Model, theory and practices effectively and engagingly to a variety of audiences.
    • At least two years direct experience with teaching, classroom practices and pedagogical approaches
    • Experience training educators in a virtual or in-person environment
    • A demonstrated appreciation for modern, innovative and student-centred approaches to student learning and a desire for radical change to outdated approaches.
    • Ability to communicate fluently in both verbal and written English
    • Warm and professional communication with a variety of audiences
    • Enthusiasm for teamwork and an ability to develop effective and productive collaborations with colleagues of a diverse set of backgrounds and approaches
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and remotely with proactivity and passion
    • Highly proficient in Google Suite

    Preferred Skills & Requirements

    • Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Education or Related Field with 3-5 years work experience  
    • Knowledge of the Italian school system  
    • Proficiency in the Italian language
    • Familiarity with teacher training online platforms, Canva and other presentation tools
