    Finance Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    To support the Head of Finance and strategy in financial reporting, reconciliation and to ensure financial effectiveness of the bank operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Filing and submission of CBK financial reports as required
    • Remittances of tax and other statutory deductions such as withholding tax, stamp duty, and Excise duty
    • Raising and verification of journal vouchers
    • Validate financial entries by auditing accrued expenses, supplier payment vouchers, fixed asset register entries and branches accounting entries
    • Responsible for fixed asset depreciation and disposal
    • To receive reconciliations from departments and branches for allocated ledger accounts and follow up for closure of the issues therein.
    • Prepare status report on reconciling issues for review and update
    • Support daily monitoring of bank balances and review bank reconciliation as per the bank’s policies and procedures
    • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Prepare branch and departments reconciliation statements
    • Secure financial information by maintaining data base backups
    • Bank loan management through validation, settlement of interest and principal repayment
    • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
    • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
    • To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objective

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Education -University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Business Management/Administration or related business degree (Must)
    • Certified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant (Must)
    • Current member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) with a valid membership Certificate (Must)
    • 3 years working experience in busy accounting/finance function in a financial institution (Must)
    • Advanced Excel spreadsheet and data analytical skills
    • High level of integrity and dependability
    • Has a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Able to multitask.
    • A fast learner
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good marketing and People management skills
    • Must be self-driven; possess excellent administrative, communication and interpersonal skills, strong organization, and negotiation skills.

    Finance Assistant

    JOB PURPOSE

    To support the Head of Finance and strategy in financial reconciliation to ensure financial effectiveness of the bank operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Verification of goods received.
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
    • Reconciliations of allocated ledger accounts and follow up for closure of the issues therein.
    • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Management of Finance related records - filing and custody.
    • Filing of statutory returns (Customer/suppliers)
    • Staff operational claims processing – Imprest
    • Managing accounts payable using core banking system
    • Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
    • Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
    • Processing due invoices for payments
    • Verification of vendor documents: purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges on documents.
    • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling Payable Ledgers
    • Maintain vendor statements and daily financial transactions.
    • To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objective

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Education -University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Business
    • Management/Administration or related business degree
    • Certified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant.
    • CPA Intermediate Level or CPA Section IV qualification
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting firm/financial institution
    • Proficiency in Advanced Excel spreadsheet
    • Adherence to high ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Relationship Officer – Micro Business

    JOB PURPOSE

    Provide financial and business solutions to micro customers including credit solutions, liability products and customer service.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Driving customer recruitment for micro business customers.
    • Leading in developing suitable products and services for micro in liaison with the branches, HOD Retail Banking and the Product Development team
    • Delivery of exceptional performance through the micro business team.
    • Proactive leading and directing the relationship teams accountable for the portfolio of micro business customers.
    • Taking initiative in terms of business development activities and ensuring that quality business is retained, and high service standards are delivered by the team.
    • Demonstrating an intimate knowledge of the market and the competitor to inform market penetration, growth, and retention.
    • Making quick business decisions that balance risk, profitability and most importantly responsiveness to customer needs.
    • Reviewing performance of assigned Relationship Officers and/or Branch Managers against micro business budgets for all assigned KPI targets.
    • Continually monitoring and following up with respective micro business
    • Relationship Officers and/or Branch Managers to ensure that the set Micro business targets are being achieved, and gaps adequately addressed.
    • Conducting regular customer visits to enhance relationship development and customer maintenance, as well as growth of the business wallet.
    • Monitoring and following up with micro business Relationship Managers/Officers and/or Branch Managers to ensure balanced growth of the micro business portfolio.
    • Monitoring quality of the loan book advances by reviewing arrears, account excesses and irregular accounts, among others.
    • Monitoring performance against set targets.
    • Conducting customer engagement initiatives like financial literacy, coaching and mentorship
    • To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objective

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Holder of bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
    • Thorough knowledge of MSME banking product and policies.
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in banking institution
    • Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage
    • Knowledge of lending products and prudential guidelines.
    • Ability to lead teams and deliver business results.
    • Must be self-driven; possess excellent administrative, communication and
    • interpersonal skills, strong organization, and negotiation skills.
    • Conscious of data accuracy and completeness
