    Sales Trainee

    In this Sales Trainee position

    • Administer sales sub function plans and processes to deliver business growth, profitability and enhance customer retention for a defined area/ territory in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies.
    • Administer sales plans covering sales forecasts, revenues, costs and budgets for a defined area/ territory.
    • Administer sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing and distribution plans for the territory/area.
    • Strengthen commercial exposure- Include participation in customer meetings, joint sales visits, and exposure to the quotation and negotiation process.
    • Assist formulate concept to manage critical pricing policies, monitor profitability against targets and manage price re-negotiation.
    • Perform reconciliation of sales, revenues and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas.
    • Identify and highlight improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness.
    • Apply prescribed processes to research market trends and customer requirements and support translation of products/ services into solutions to meet their needs.
    • Support coordination to implement customer strategies, contract negotiations, cross selling activities and supply chain management processes.
    • Administer sales support processes and tools to ensure sales force effectiveness.

    • Explain facts, policies and practices related to job area.
    • Support and interact primarily with colleagues of own sub-function.

    Trainee - Import / Export Specialist

    In this Trainee - Import / Export Specialist position

    • Administer import/ export plans and processes to optimize service and performance.
    • Perform transactional operational tasks related to import/ export in adherence to regulations and internal procedures.
    • Undertake import/ export entries and support operational activities as per internal procedures and latest local customs regulations.
    • Prepare calculations for duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise imported/ exported from/ to foreign destinations.
    • Draft, distribute and archive all required import/ export documents.
    • Check invoices and shipping documents to enhance accordance with federal regulations.
    • Verify entries to ensure customer requirements are met and suggest routine corrective actions in case of deviations.
    • Ensure export, import and gateway operations are as per business guidelines and compliant with set expectations.
    • Administer IT systems related tasks to provide updated information on shipment.
    • Cooperate with internal functions such as customer service, product, sales, etc.
    • Connect with overseas office to check and verify shipment information.
    • Resolve recurring issues, and suggest enhancements for import/ export work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency

    Road Freight Trainee

    In this Road Freight Trainee position

    • Administrative Support: Assist in managing and updating transit shipments via the CargoWise system under direct supervision.
    • Documentation: Support the team in securing and organizing essential shipping documents, including Delivery Orders and Guarantee Forms.
    • Reporting: Assist in the preparation and submission of daily transit reports for existing customers.
    • Financial Administration: Support the billing process by ensuring shipment files are organized for timely month-end billing and helping with the provision of disbursements.
    • Stakeholder Liaison: Assist in follow-ups with local authorities (KRA/KPA/CFS/KEBs) and shipping lines to facilitate the release of transit road shipments.
    • Internal Coordination: Support inter-departmental communication and collaborate with colleagues to help achieve shared RFR targets.
    • Compliance: Perform all assigned tasks in strict compliance with Company Policies, Procedures, and Instructions.

    • Requirement: University qualification or College qualification (completed or in progress).
    • Minimum: 0 years; this is an entry-level learning role, though an interest in the logistics forwarding industry is advantageous.
    • Knowledge: Basic interest in or introductory knowledge of road freight and multimodal transport.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide timely and clear information.
    • Attitude: Eagerness to learn the DHL system, industry workings, and port operations in Mombasa.
    • Skills: High level of personal organization and the ability to follow structured sequences of steps.
    • Analysis: Ability to break down basic processes into component parts and seek out necessary information.
    • Customer Orientation: Desire to assist customers and internal stakeholders in an efficient and friendly manner.
    • Planning & Organizing: Ability to schedule time effectively and use efficient work tools to meet learning milestones.
    • Teamwork: Works cooperatively with the Senior Specialist and the wider team to achieve collective objectives.
    • Technology/IT Systems: Ability to navigate and prepare reports and have skillset for office programs and ERP software.
