Duties and Responsibilities

• To supervise the administration and delivery of services in the respective departments of the County Government and all decentralized units and Agencies in the County. b. Carry out any function incidental to any of the assigned functions. c. Provide the County Assembly with the full and regular reports on matters relating to their relevant County Department
• May advise the Governor on matters within his/her area of jurisdiction
• Any other duties as may be assigned by H.E the Governor or County Legislation
• Perform any other functions conferred on it by the Constitution or National Legislation

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, the person should:

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
• A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
• Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity as prescribed in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
• Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than five (5) years in managerial position.
• Understand the diversity, challenges and opportunities within the County.
• Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the Devolution Laws
• Be a visionary and strategic thinker.
• Have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Be committed to be part of a team that will enable the County Governor achieve her vision.
• Should not hold any other State or Public Office.

Pursuant to an Act of the County Assembly of Embu to provide for the establishment of legal institutional framework for promotion and coordination of Investment and Development, and in line with the requirements of section 6 of the Embu County Investment and Development Corporation Act, 2018, Embu County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to take up the positions of four (4) Board Members (One from each Sub-County) for a term of three(3) years renewable for a further one (1) term. Eligibility criteria:

• Be a citizen of Kenya
•  Be a degree holder from a recognized University in Kenya in any of the following fields: Economics, Law, Finance, Accounting, Business studies, Tourism or Public administration.
• Must have knowledge and experience either in the public or private sector of five years in matters relating to the field of Economics, Law, Finance, Accounting, Business studies, Tourism, Public administration or any other relevant field.
• Must have had a distinguished career in their respective fields.
