    Lecturer - Nursing

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

    • Teach/Research/Publish and evaluate/assess courses in one’s discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
    • Supervise undergraduate projects and other experiential learning programs.
    • Supervise dissertations/theses at the graduate level.
    • Participate in the development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
    • Initiate, promote and participate in research projects.
    • Provide professional and community services.
    • Carry out administrative and other duties & responsibilities as may be assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT: -

    • Should have a PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a master’s degree in special cases) in the relevant area from a recognized/accredited University/academic institutions,
    • Should demonstrate potential for university teaching and research.
    • Should be recognized and registered by the relevant body

    Senior Lecturer - Nursing

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Initiate, promote and participate in research projects and publish
    • Provide academic leadership through programme development, mentoring and research
    • Provide professional and community services including initiating linkages and fundraising
    • Carry out administrative and other duties & responsibilities as may be assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT: -

    For appointment to this grade, a person must possess the following qualifications:

    • Should have a PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a master’s degree in special cases) in the relevant area from a recognized/accredited University/academic institutions.
    • Must have at least 3 years of teaching or research experience University level since becoming Lecturer/Research Fellow.
    • Must have a minimum of six (6) publications points (i.e. one university level scholarly book and one in refereed journal or three articles in referred journals etc) since appointment as Lecturer/Research Fellow (Minimum publication score – 12 points)
    • Must have supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
    • Be registered by the relevant Professional Body.

    Legal Officer

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Control and co-ordination of the University legal affairs.
    • Shall be the Chief Legal Advisor of the University Management, senate and council.
    • Assisting the Vice Chancellor in council Secretarial Services.
    • Guiding the council and management on the Key governance and compliance issues.
    • Drafting of legal documents, handling cases involving the University and advising the University on all legal matters.
    • Ensure University legal and regulatory frameworks are legally compliant through constant review.
    • Interpret the University Statutes, Terms and Conditions of Service, Collective Agreements, Memorandum of Understandings, Contracts and other documents that are legally binding.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT: -

    For appointment to this grade, a person must possess the following qualifications:

    • Have a Bachelors degree in law from a recognized university;
    • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate.
    • Have 3 years experience in a similar position or in legal practice.
    • A Certified Public Secretary (CPS – K) and member of ICPSK with a valid practicing license is an added advantage.
