    Master Musician

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Lead and conduct rehearsals and performances across African and Western music ensembles
    • Curate, arrange, and prepare repertoire that reflects both the African musical heritage and the Western classical and contemporary canon
    • Coordinate and supervise sectional rehearsals to address technical and stylistic challenges specific to African ensemble performance as well as Western instrumental performance
    • Develop and implement performance frameworks that allow students to engage meaningfully with both traditions, fostering cross-cultural musicianship without compromising the integrity of either

    Qualifications and skills    

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Music or related from a recognized university.
    • Must have strong knowledge of and demonstrated ability to proficiently play a wide variety of Western and African musical instruments.
    • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in performing and teaching a variety of Western and African musical instruments.
    • Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body such as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional association in Kenya.
    • Must possess relevant professional qualifications and demonstrated competence in performance and instruction of Western and African musical instruments

    Resource Technician

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Inventory & Asset Management
    • Coordinate the daily issuance and safe return of departmental equipment to students and staff
    • Perform regular inspections of the inventory to identify damage or wear
    • Submit detailed reports on faulty instruments to the HOD and oversee the scheduling of professional repairs or tuning
    • Oversee the organization and security of the Music Storeroom, ensuring instruments are stored under optimal environmental conditions to prevent damage

    Qualifications and skills    

    • Bachelor Degree in Music, Music Education, or related field
    • Must possess strong skills and competencies in performing, teaching, and coordinating a wide variety of Western and African musical instruments
    • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in performing and teaching a variety of Western and African musical instruments
    • Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body such as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional association in Kenya
    • Must possess relevant professional qualifications in music performance, instruction, or instrumental training from a recognized institution

    Editing Lab Technician

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Set up, operate, and maintain editing lab equipment including computers, cameras, audio systems, and related hardware
    • Provide hands-on technical support to students during practical sessions in media, music, and film editing
    • Train and guide students on the use of editing software, audio-visual equipment, and production tools
    • Support students in basic production processes including video editing, sound editing, and post-production workflows
    • Assist lecturers/instructors in preparing practical lessons and demonstrations.

    Qualifications and skills    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Music Audio or a related field
    • Must possess strong skills and competencies in audio recording, music editing, sound mixing, and operation of studio and editing equipment
    • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in editing, recording, or music production within a music or audio-visual laboratory
    • Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body such as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional association in Kenya.
    • Must possess relevant professional qualifications in music production, sound engineering, audio technology, or related field from a recognized institution
