    Internal Security Supervisor

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

     Must have:

    • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies or a relevant field.
    • Must have at least three (3) years of experience as a security officer or a comparable position
    • Must be computer literate.

    OR

    • Must have worked with any of the disciplined forces of Kenya or any other reputable security firm
    • Must possess a clean discharge certificate
    • Must possess a certificate of good conduct
    • Must possess first aid certificate
    • Must possess fire-fighting certificate
    • Must be computer literate.

    Reporting to: Centre Coordinator

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Assist in coordinating all the outsourced security services and internal security operations.
    • Assist in handling staff security cases and administrative issues.
    • Handle general correspondences for security in Liaison with Chief Security Officer.
    • Compile monthly security surveys and crime analysis for the chief Security Officer.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

    Qualification

    Must have:

    • Master’s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited university in the relevant field

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree (for special cases outlined on MKU teaching staff appointments and promotions guidelines, 2020);
    • Be registered/ registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification;
    • Registered with relevant professional body where applicable.
    • Appointment shall be on two (2) years contract, renewable upon demonstration of progress in PhD studies.

    Lecturer School of Nursing

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

     Must have:

    • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized/accredited university;
    • Demonstrated hands on skills in software development and databases

    OR

    • Master’s degree in relevant discipline (for special cases outlined on MKU teaching staff appointments and promotions guidelines, 2020) with 3 years teaching/industry/research experience;
    • Expected to have registered for a PhD degree in the relevant discipline.
    • At least three (3) years teaching experience at university level and demonstrated hands on skills in software development and databases;
    • At least 24 publication points of which 16 should be from refereed scholarly journals
    • Be registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable)

    E-learning Coordinator

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

     Must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, preferably in an ICT-related area
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience at Grade 9 and above in MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
    • ICT Certification in a relevant area of specialization
    • Experience in managing or monitoring online learning in an e-learning environment will be an added advantage

    OR

    • Higher National Diploma in relevant area of specialization or a professional qualification.
    • 5 years’ experience at Grade 9 and above within MKU or in a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
    • ICT Certification in a relevant area of specialization
    • Experience in managing or monitoring online learning in an e-learning environment will be an added advantage

    Reporting to: Principal, ODEL

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • To monitor and supervise user activities in the e-learning portal; ensuring that students are engaged in appropriate e-learning activities
    • To provide front line support for ODEL students including basic ICT support and response to technical queries on the e-learning platforms
    • To provide front line support for tutors for all ICT based e-learning platforms
    • To update the posting of syllabus and learning resources on the e-learning platforms
    • To support in the technical organization and management of online examinations
    • To advise and assist students to identify their learning resource needs and finding online resources through the university e-library
    • To provide a high-quality level of customer service for all users on the use of the e-learning platform
    • To assist in the collection of data for statistical reporting of the e-learning activities
    • To participate in staff and students’ inductions in the use of the e-learning platforms
    • To participate in other activities related to e-learning services
    • To promote and contribute to the development of e-learning and ICT Support Services

    Accountant

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

    Must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business with specialization in
    • Accounting/Finance or its equivalent.
    • CPA (K)
    • 3 years’ experience as Accounts Assistant

    OR

    • CPA (K)
    • 5 years’ experience as Assistant Accountant
    • Must be registered with a Professional body

    Reporting to: Finance Director

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the preparation of the financial statements as and when required
    • Ensure the timely posting of journals and preparation of bank reconciliations and other control accounts (e.g. payroll, cash controls, suspense etc.)
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements
    • Custodian of all accounting documents
    • Verifying accounting documents under his/her section.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor
