    Project Officer/Recycling Champion - 2 Posts

    MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Value Chain Actors Engagement – oversee the entire lifecycle of projects or sector materials recycling from collection and sorting to processing and repurposing. This to be achieved through activation visits, continuous follow ups, communicating and advocating for self-regulation and positive relationships in the use of paper, glass, metal, used beverage cartons and associate corrugates.
    • Project Coordination – day to day management of assigned projects or sectors through the provision of technical support, identifying and fostering effective projects or sectors implementation frameworks to drive recyclable volumes in a dynamic, creative and committed manner with a focus on successfully coordinating all stages of the project cycle.
    • Research Support – collect, organize, and analyse data related to assigned projects or sectors as well as prepare reports and summaries to aid decision-making processes with the projects or sector boards.
    • Documentation and Reporting – assist in preparing project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and presentations in collaboration with other team members.
    • Governance – maintain integrity and transparency through continuous implementation and enforcement of existing relevant policies and procedures.
    • Innovation – keep abreast with latest trends in the industry and leverage on these trends to drive technical support to projects or sector boards.

    KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Community Work/Development, Social Studies or a related field from a recognized university.
    • A minimum of three (3) years proven track record in Projects or Sectors, Community Development and Social Work in a comparable member-based organization.
    • In depth understanding of all packaging materials.
    • In-depth knowledge of PRO issues, including risk factors, prevention strategies and interventions.

    Project Assistant - 2 Posts

    MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Projects or Sectors Support – assist in coordinating and monitoring projects or sector materials recycling from collection and sorting to processing and repurposing in close liaison with Project Officers to drive recyclable volumes in a dynamic, creative and committed manner. This to be achieved through activation visits, continuous follow ups, communicating and advocating for selfregulation and positive relationships in the use of paper, glass, metal, used beverage cartons, paper and associate corrugates.
    • Membership Support – identify Value Chain Actor’s needs in optimizing collection and connect waste pickers to aggregators, as well as aggregators with recyclers.
    • Documentation and Reporting – assist in preparing project documentation, including project plans, progress reports and presentations in collaboration with other team members.
    • Governance – maintain integrity and transparency through continuous implementation and enforcement of existing relevant policies and procedures.
    • Innovation – keep abreast with latest trends in the industry and leverage on these trends to drive technical support to projects or sector boards.

    KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Diploma in Project Management, Community Work/Development, Social Studies, Business Administration, Finance or a related field from a recognized university.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of proven track record in Projects or Sectors, Community Development and Social Work in a comparable member-based organization.
    • An understanding of all packaging materials with knowledge in PRO issues, including risk factors, prevention strategies and interventions.

    Communications and Partnership Assistant

    MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Brand Awareness – support the Communications Lead in managing media relations, creating content and developing marketing initiatives as associated with the use of paper, glass, metal, used beverage cartons, paper and associate corrugates. Critical herein is supporting consistent messaging across all media channels and platforms, media relations and strategic initiatives to position the organization as a thought leader within its sector.
    • Communication Plans and Promotional Materials – assist in coordinating and monitoring the organization’s internal and external communications to enhance its public image and stakeholder engagement in close liaison with the Communications Lead. Broaden awareness of the organization’s vision, programs and impact through targeted communication efforts e.g., compelling narratives, content and promotional materials etc. to support organizational goals and initiatives as well as analyse social media and digital communication efforts targeted at optimised strategies for performance across these platforms.
    • Research Support – collect, organize and analyse data related to packaging projects as well as prepare reports and summaries to aid decision-making processes with the projects or sector boards.
    • Documentation and Reporting – assist in preparing communication materials for stakeholder engagement e.g., reports, presentations and newsletters in collaboration with other team members.
    • Governance – maintain integrity and transparency through continuous implementation and enforcement of existing relevant policies and procedures.
    • Innovation – keep abreast with latest trends in the industry and leverage on these trends to drive technical support to projects or sector boards

    KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Used Beverage Cartons Project Manager

    MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leadership – lead in consultation with the CEO all matters relating to the Used Beverage Cartons (UBC) Sector projects, project strategies/theories of change, project management, learning and development, governance and resource mobilisation to ensure that project operations are efficiently streamlined.
    • Stakeholder engagement – oversee designs for stakeholder mapping and engagement frameworks continually reviewing for efficacy and effectiveness. Design and support projects or sector board initiatives and foster relationships across the recycling value chain. Serve as an external figurehead, representing the organization in industry engagements and focussing on preparing detailed progress reports, fosters compliance and secures new partnerships for projects or sector boards.
    • Develop projects or sectors management tools – lead conversations on project or sector designs, deliverables, budget limits, contract negotiations, schedules and reporting templates. Coordinate projects or sector activities, implementing projects or sectorspecific strategies, and ensuring the achievement of projects or sector goals and objectives
    • Growth & Development – drive company growth through targeted marketing, provision of strong leadership, and assessment of operational performance metrics.
    • Process Optimisation – develop strategies for optimization and utilization of company resources to maximize return on investment.
    • Governance – maintain integrity and transparency through continuous implementation and enforcement of existing relevant policies and procedures.
    • Innovation – keep abreast with latest trends in the industry and leverage on these trends to drive growth.

    KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management/ Social/Health Sciences/Sociology or Development Studies/ Economics/ Law/ Political Science/Public Policy or any other related field from a recognized university.
    • Professional qualifications in Programme or Sector Management, Project Management or relevant field and a member in good standing of a relevant professional body.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in Programmes or Project Management, Community and Social Development Work and in Stakeholder Engagement, at least three (3) of which should have been in a similar management position.
    • In depth understanding of all packaging materials.
    • In-depth knowledge of PRO issues, including risk factors, prevention strategies and interventions.
