    CFYE Consultancy - Digital Strategy Expert

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    The purpose of the role is to support, develop and implement digital strategies for our Implementing Partner (IP) working in the construction sector in Kenya. Specifically, the IP is in the green housing construction sub-sector; recycling plant waste materials into insulators to be used in house installation.

    The digital strategy experts will develop and implement digital strategies, helping the IP create effective digital experiences that meet their business goals.

    Objectives And Activities

    • Conduct an assessment of IPs important facts and insights, IPs current digital performance and identifying key opportunities, current relationship with customers, best practices and synthesis of key internal and external insights and analysis for key recommendations on areas of improvement by the IP.
    • Conduct as assessment of IPs digital products and provide targeted recommendations for new existing and new products to build given the IPs current portfolio.
    • Develop and execute digital platforms including the Program Apps, video promotion, mobile and digital campaigns to engage and train the program beneficiaries.
    • Plan, execute and maintain an internal calendar for content creation and curation.
    • Developing direct digital marketing campaigns that include websites, blogs, mobile apps, social media persuasion, email marketing, and search engine optimization aimed at encouraging use of IPs products.
    • Advise client’s staff on how best to utilize the digital medias for business success.
    • Actively seek out and help define new creative methods and mediums for telling the client’s, customers and stakeholders stories across all digital platforms.
    • Work closely with client’s staff to track and monitor digital platforms learnings and optimize campaigns based on the best-performing strategies and to achieve established KPIs.
    • Actively use available information/content by the client to create or develop web content including blogs, articles, case studies, and eBooks, compelling graphic presentations and animations videos to help promote IPs products or services.

    Deliverables

    • Robust and practical digital strategy with practical implementation steps for the client.
    • A set of concrete, actionable plans or recommendations the IP can use immediately or in the near-term to increase their visibility and positioning in the digital (internet, and social media) space, grow their digital base and increase use of their products.
    • Final report-at least 5 pages.

    Operational Arrangements

    • The consultants will report directly to the Country Lead and work closely with the Implementing partners.

    Level Of Effort And Reporting

    • Up to 21 days over a period of 3 months (September –November 2022).

    Required Qualifications

    • Work experience in digital strategy development or a related field.
    • Bachelor’s degree with experience in digital learning or marketing.
    • Expert knowledge of the e-learning, web, social media platform, digital advertising analytics and reporting with the ability to communicate outcomes and insights to non-digital experts.
    • Ability to measure and produce regular digital reports to influence the digital strategy and enhance beneficiaries learning.
    • Experience with various content management systems and platform such as Drupal, and WordPress.
    • Experience with platforms, systems and applications like Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Exact Target, Hootsuite and Meltwater.
    • Experience in managing online advertising campaigns such as Google AdWords.
    • Experience using Google Analytics and analyzing and presenting results.
    • Knowledgeable about creative requirements of social media and video platforms.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

    This Opportunity

    The Feed the Future Kenya Investment Mechanism (KIM) Program is a five-year project that will unlock financing and investment by addressing two principal market failures that have discouraged investors from financing certain segments of the clean energy and agriculture sectors: 1) insufficient quality consulting services (financial, transaction advisory, strategy and business performance), and 2) limited availability of financial products tailored to agriculture and clean energy.

    The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will lead the effort of collecting and analyzing data that will ultimately evaluate the impact of USAID’s intervention to facilitate significant and new investment. S/he will be responsible for tracking and aggregating all project data to support the team in evaluating the project’s progress.

    Reporting And Supervision

    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will report to the Deputy Chief of Party

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Assist in developing the project’s M&E plan which includes PMP and knowledge management and learning plan
    • Coordinate the finalization of the AMELP, AMP, and QASP
    • Support technical teams in collecting, aggregating, and analyzing baseline data in the first several months of the project
    • Advise in the designing and planning for evaluations, studies and assessments, ensuring there are adequate financial resources.
    • Coordinate Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) efforts throughout the life of the project at regular intervals to review and encourage use of data in resource allocation decision by technical team members
    • Support the review and completion process for all project deliverables
    • Maintain impeccable M&E files and substantiating information on data reported to USAID on the project’s shared drive that can be easily accessible by project team members and available for project auditors (i.e. accurate, updated, etc.)
    • Coordinate collection and compilation of information on quarterly, annual and life of project indicators and outputs from team leaders, and progress toward planned activities
    • Finalize and continuously update progress against the project’s Performance Management Plan (PMP), and maintain all files related to substantiating progress against PMP performance indicators
    • Respond to requests for information on the project and on project performance as needed
    • Enter required training-related data into the US Government’s TraiNet software
    • Work closely with technical unit heads to track investment portfolio information and progress
    • Support the Opportunities team in tracking performance on policy reform efforts to align with USAID policies and requirements.

    Key Competencies Required

    • Master’s degree or higher in business administration, international development, economics, statistics, or a related field
    • Minimum five years (seven preferred) of professional experience in performance monitoring and/or evaluation role within an international development organization.
    • Experience designing and overseeing M&E data collection and reporting for economic growth/financing projects preferred.
    • USAID or other international donor experience required
    • Demonstrated ability to implement, operationalize, and manage information collection and assessment systems
    • Demonstrated ability to create and manage information databases using appropriate software applications
    • Ability to work in team environment and work with and train non-direct reports to implement initiatives
    • Strong writing, reporting, and presentational skills
