    Programme Management Officer - Donor relations and resources mobilization, P3

    The incumbent will directly report to the Head of the External Relations and Partnerships Branch and Director of External Relations, Strategy Knowledge and Innovation Division.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned resource mobilization initiatives, etc.; monitors and analyzes resource mobilization and donor relations; reviews relevant resource mobilization documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
    • Performs resource mobilization assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change.
    • Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources related to resource mobilization.
    • Assists in the development of internal donor policy guide for private sector/foundations engagement. including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.
    • Undertakes resource mobilization survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews,
    • analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
    • Prepares various resource mobilization written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
    • Provides substantive support to donor consultations and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, and promotes resource partnership with the UN common system etc.
    • Undertakes outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations related to resource mobilization.
    • Participates in or lead donor relation field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties and drafting mission summaries, etc.
    • Coordinates activities related to donor relations and funding opportunities (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.) and coordinates joint efforts to mobilize resources, map interests of potential donors, initiate contract with new and emerging partners to explore funding opportunities and develop partnerships.

    Education

    • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in public policy, management, community development or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management or related area is required.
    • Experience working with the UN or similar international organizations/donors/ resource mobilization is desirable.
    • Experience in conducting meetings on resource mobilization with Member States and government officials is desirable.

    Programme Management Officer - Urban Practices, P3

    The Urban Practices Branch (UPB) is the tools and methodology production and skills centre of the UN-Habitat, that develops normative guidance and cutting-edge tools through communities of urban practice. It provides technical and policy advice approaches and methodologies to MCOs/CO, government and partners and mainstreams them throughout the programme portfolio. It also ensures that the cross-cutting area of safety and the social inclusion issues of human rights; gender; children, youth and older persons; and disability are developed and mainstreamed across the Agency. The Programme Officer will directly report to the Chief of Urban Practices Branch.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides substantive support to normative work; supports Communities of Practice and GSD Publications Peer Review Team; manages the Catalogue of Services; and ensures consistent quality of Branch
    • normative products.
    • Supports Branch management: streamlines coherent systems on staff and knowledge management; supports harmonized reporting, supports portfolio of global and multi-country programmes
