Vihiga County whose headquarters is in Mbale is Located in the Western Region of Kenya. It boarders Nandi to the East, Kisumu County to the South, Siaya County to the West and KAKAMEGA County to the North. It is one of the four Counties in the former Western Province. Vihiga County has five Constituencies; Luanda, Emuhaya, Hamisi, Sabatia and Vihiga. The County’s population stands at 612,000.

For appointment to this position, the person should:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Have a working experience of not less than ten (10) years;
- Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity;
- Not a state or public officer;
- Not have at any time within the preceding five years, held office, or stood for election as:
  - A member of Parliament or of County Assembly; or
  - Member of the governing body of a political party;
- Not be or has at any time been, a candidate for election as a Member of Parliament or of a County Assembly;
- Not be or has at any time been, the holder of an office in any political organization that sponsors or otherwise supports, or has at any time sponsored or otherwise supported, a candidate for election as a Member of Parliament or of a County Assembly; Be committed to be part of a team that will enable the County Government achieve its objectives.

For appointment to this position, the person should:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Be in possession of a minimum Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Have a working experience of not less than five (5) years;
- Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity;
- Be a professional who demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct;
- Not a state or public officer;
- Not have at any time within the preceding five years, held office, or stood for election as:
- A member of Parliament or of County Assembly; or
  - Member of the governing body of a political party;
  - Not be or has at any time been, a candidate for election as a Member of Parliament or of a County Assembly;
- Not be or has at any time been, the holder of an office in any political organization that sponsors or otherwise supports, or has at any time sponsored or otherwise supported, a candidate for election as a Member of Parliament or of a County Assembly;
- Be committed to be part of a team that will enable the County Government achieve its objectives.
Method of Application
TERMS OF SERVICE

Salary and benefits for these positions shall be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC); and (b) The Chairperson and Members of the Board shall hold office a s provided in Section 58 (4) of the County Government Act
