    Container Shipping Operator

    Job Purpose

    • Supports the Transport Department by coordinating and administering shipping documentation, monitoring freight movements, and ensuring the timely dispatch and delivery of cargo in support of freight forwarding operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate shipping documentation to support efficient freight forwarding and transport operations.
    • Prepare, verify, and maintain transport documents, including Delivery Orders (DOs), Container Interchange Receipts (CIRs), Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIRs), waybills, transport manifests, gate passes, and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
    • Manage container interchange activities, ensuring the timely collection, delivery, and return of containers in compliance with shipping line, depot, port, customer, and company requirements.
    • Monitor container and shipment movements, maintaining accurate records and coordinating timely container returns to minimize detention and demurrage costs.
    • Verify container condition during collection and return, documenting and escalating any damages or discrepancies.
    • Liaise with shipping lines, container depots, transporters, port authorities, customs, customers, and internal teams to facilitate seamless operations.
    • Maintain accurate shipment, transport, and container movement records.
    • Receive, verify, and reconcile Proofs of Delivery (PODs) and container interchange documents to support invoicing and reporting.
    • Investigate and resolve shipment, documentation, and container interchange discrepancies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
    • Prepare routine transport and shipment reports and ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable transport regulations.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Transport Manager

    Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

    Key Skills & Competencies

    • Freight forwarding and transport operations.
    • Container interchange procedures and documentation.
    • Shipping and transport documentation requirements.
    • Road transport operations and fleet coordination.
    • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    Experience

    • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in transport, logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding operations.
    • Experience managing shipping documentation and container interchange processes is highly desirable.

    Fuel Clerk

    Job Purpose

    • To control the issuance, recording, and reconciliation of fuel for company vehicles and equipment, ensuring accurate inventory and compliance with company policies and procedures

    Key Responsibilities

    • Issue fuel to authorized vehicles and equipment in accordance with company procedures.
    • Verify vehicle registration numbers, driver details, mileage, and fuel authorization before dispensing fuel.
    • Record all fuel transactions accurately in manual registers or fuel management systems.
    • Monitor daily fuel consumption and identify unusual usage or discrepancies.
    • Reconcile daily fuel stock against issued quantities and physical inventory.
    • Conduct routine fuel tank dip measurements and maintain accurate stock records.
    • Report fuel shortages, leakages, losses, or suspected fraud immediately.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fuel consumption and stock reports.
    • Coordinate fuel deliveries and verify quantities received from suppliers.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the fuel storage and dispensing area.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to fuel handling.
    • Maintain proper documentation of fuel receipts, issue vouchers, and inventory records.
    • Support fleet management by providing accurate fuel usage data for analysis and reporting.
    • Assist in periodic fuel audits and stock verification exercises

    Qualifications

    • Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Stores Management, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Training in inventory or fuel management is an added advantage.
    • Basic computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.

    Key Skills & Competencies

    • Knowledge of fuel inventory control and stock reconciliation.
    • Understanding of fleet operations and fuel consumption monitoring.
    • Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in fuel management, stores, inventory control, fleet operations, or a similar role.

    Welder

    Job Purpose

    • To fabricate, repair, and maintain metal structures, vehicle bodies, equipment, and components using appropriate welding techniques while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform welding using MIG, TIG, Arc (SMAW), and gas welding techniques as required.
    • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures, equipment, trailers, vehicle bodies, containers, and machinery.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
    • Cut, shape, grind, and prepare metal components for welding.
    • Repair damaged chassis, frames, gates, platforms, tanks, and other steel structures.
    • Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
    • Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment safely.
    • Carry out preventive maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment.
    • Ensure proper use and storage of welding gases, electrodes, and consumables.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
    • Report equipment defects and material shortages to the supervisor.
    • Support emergency repair work and field assignments when required.
    • Maintain records of completed fabrication and repair work

    Qualifications

    • Certificate or Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, or a related technical field.
    • Valid trade certification in welding is an added advantage.
    • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct

    Key Skills

    • Knowledge of different metals and appropriate welding techniques.
    • Skilled in cutting, grinding, drilling, and metal fabrication.
    • Familiarity with welding safety standards and PPE requirements.
    • Good measuring and layout skills.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Welder in a workshop, or fleet maintenance environment.
    • Experience in heavy fabrication, vehicle body repairs, or industrial equipment maintenance is an added advantage.

    QHSE Coordinator

    Job Purpose

    • To support the implementation of QHSE Management Systems in compliance with company, national and international Standards

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of QHSE Management Systems in compliance with Company, national and international Standards
    • Conduct regular audits to minimize non-conforming activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Monitor activities in the Company to avoid environmental pollution.
    • Ensure a secure, safe and healthy working environment throughout the site.
    • Identify QHSE training needs and facilitate delivery of the training
    • Conduct periodic tool box meetings with teams on safety matters among others
    • Report all incidents and accidents occurring within the sites and ensure the sites meet all statutory requirements of reporting.
    • Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Regional Quality Manager for decision making.
    • Establish emergency response procedures and evaluation plans and ensure all personnel are aware of the plans, procedures and assembly point.
    • Constitute a Health, Safety and Environment Committee for the Company that meets the regulations of the '
    • Group and local legislation and ensure it is active and its members are trained accordingly.
    • Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment’ are available, in good condition, and sufficient for all employees.
    • Review assigned contracts that the Company draws with service providers so as to ensure that all issues of health, safety and environment have been taken care of in the contract.
    • Induct all new employees and contractors on site on all health, safety and environmental policy and regulations to ensure their safety
    • Raise requisitions for departmental supplies to facilitate operations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in a Science related Field.
    • Working knowledge of Management Systems e.g. QMS ISO 9001, EMS ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
