    Intern Data Analyst

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Implement sustainable strategies to improve quantity (improved reporting rates) and quality of available data in the DWH.
    • Support data cleaning, mapping (including accurate mapping of facilities and partners), data quality assessments, and feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support evaluations and studies using the DWH as a data source including preparation of ad hoc data sets and capacity building them to access the data on their own. 
    • Support the development of capacity development materials for the DWH.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards including data modeling for visualization.
    • Work with SECCAH to support end-user training and support.
    • Work closely with other Data Analysis and use team members to develop and disseminate information products.
    • Support DWH in the development and maintenance of DWH-related documentation and data dictionaries.
    • Advise the DWH team and Data Analysis & Use team members on the required enhancements to DWAPI to meet stakeholder needs.

    Required Qualifications:

    •  University education in computing, statistics, or science would be highly regarded.
    • Some experience in the same or similar position
    • Programming Languages (R/STATA/Python) - Proficient and working knowledge in one or more of these programming languages (R, Python, or STATA) for data gathering, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
    • Creative and Analytical Thinking - Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
    • Excellent communication and comprehension skills: confident communicating with people of differing levels of seniority, analytical understanding, and from a wide variety of backgrounds
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
    • Strong SQL (especially Teradata) can extract data from large databases using SQL to develop data queries.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel - Efficient with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Fluent in English both spoken and written.

    Technical Consultant - Social Behaviour Change, Communication (SBBC) and Advocacy - Kenya

    Brief scope of work

    • The TA should deliver a practical advocacy toolkit with standardized messaging guides that are evidence based and designed to ensure sustainable male engagement in SRHR. Application of behavioral science to craft evidence-based messages that are tailored to the target audience (Men and boys).

    Methodology

    Objective 1: Develop and operationalize advocacy toolkit

    • Create a practical toolkit with stakeholders, that include messaging and community dialogue guides. The toolkit to encourage reflection, empathy and collective problem solving. Incorporate participatory approaches (storytelling, role-plays, peer discussions for gradual behaviour shift. Convene workshops with government agencies, CSOs, and community leaders to co-design the toolkit, ensuring cultural relevance and ownership.
    • Content development: Draft messaging guides, dialogue frameworks, and facilitation tools grounded in evidence and aligned with national SRHR strategies.

    Objective 2: Enhance consistent messaging to promote positive masculinity and gender equity

    • Message Harmonization: Develop standardized communication templates to ensure coherence across institutions and communities
    • Ensure that the toolkit is evidence-based, culturally sensitive, adaptable across diverse community contexts.

    Objective 3: Evidence – based messaging using behavioural research

    • Ensure that the proposed messaging is informed by behavioural research insights.
    • Audience segmentation: Tailor messages to resonate with specific groups, addressing their unique motivations and concerns.
    • Iterative testing: Use focus groups and rapid surveys to test message effectiveness before wide rollout. Refine messaging based on community responses.

    Experience and skills required

    • Advanced degree (masters or PHD) Social Sciences, Public health, gender studies, development studies or a related field.
    • Minimum 10 years of progress experience in Social Behaviour Change and Communication (SBBC), and advocacy
    • Strong background in SBCC approaches, including evidence-based messaging and community dialogue facilitation
    • Advocacy and Policy development: Experience designing advocacy tools, messaging frameworks, and supporting policy integration
    • Community Engagement: Practical experience working with diverse groups (men, boys, women, youth, elders) to challenge harmful norms.
    • Research and evidence use ability to conduct behavioural insights research and translate findings into actionable communications strategies.
    • Experience working with government institutions, preferably Kenya or similar contexts on demographic data and evidence-based planning and budgeting
    • High-level communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
