    Senior Supply Chain Management Officer

    REF: ADMIN/SCMO/2017- SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER - KECOBO 8

    Gross Salary Range: KES 117,000 to KES 131,794 p.m.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure efficient and effective procurement of goods, services and works in compliance with the established procurement policy and regulations;
    • Management and distribution of stores;
    • Provision of logistical advice to department and unit heads with regard to procurements;
    • Provision of technical advice to the tender and procurement related committees to ensure efficient and effective procurements;
    • Facilitation in establishment of required procurement committees to ensure regulatory compliance;
    • Facilitation of receipt on delivery of goods and stores to respective users;
    • Facilitation in the review of review of procurement policies;
    • Preparation of annual procurement plans;
    • Monitoring of stock levels for necessary attention;
    • Coordination of the disposal of unserviceable stores as recommended by the stores disposal committee;
    • Overall coordination of preparation of departmental performance contracts, performance monitoring and evaluation.

    Required qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supplies Management or Economic from a recognized university with a Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies Management (CIPS) or;
    • Master’s degree in Supplies Management from a recognized university;
    • Be a registered member of relevant professional body
    • Demonstrate administrative and professional competence in procurement function;
    • Has served at the level of Supply Chain Management Officer for at least six (6) years.

    Key competences:

    • Reliable degree of professional and technical knowledge on procurement policies and regulations and ability to apply them;
    • Good understanding of Procurement Act 2015 and subsequent regulations;
    • Planning and coordination skills
    • Strategy formulation and implementation knowledge;
    • ICT proficiency

    Chief Legal Counsel

    REF: L/CLC/2017- CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL - KECOBO 10

    Gross Salary Range: KES 202,000 to KES 237,961 p.m.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    a) Advise the Board’s management on Legal and regulatory compliance matters;
    b) Overall management of legal and operation issues of the Board including research.
    c) Oversee and coordinate law enforcement officers and prosecutors.
    d) Provide guidance and direction on overall operational strategies pertaining to legal and operation functions.
    e) Prepare periodic and annual reports and statistics on copyright administration and enforcement in Kenya.
    f) Formulate and draft bills and guidelines that respond proactively to the needs of the copyright industry.
    g) Approve country position papers on copyright and related rights.
    h) Respond appropriately to legal and police correspondence and reports.
    i) Develop and implement short-term and long-term organizational strategies and policies with regard to litigation and operations.
    j) Advise the management on negotiations and participation in partnerships and collaborations.
    k) Initiate and implement periodic reviews of legal framework on copyright and related rights.
    l) Liaise with the Attorney General’s Office and external lawyers on legal matters touching on the Board.
    m) Support negotiation, ratification and domestication of international and bilateral treaties.
    n) Overall coordination of performance contract preparation, performance monitoring and evaluation process.

    Required qualification:

    • Masters degree in Law with Intellectual Property specialization;
    • Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university and;
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
    • Has served at the level of Senior Legal/State Counsel for at least three (3) years or;
    • Has held a senior position at a copyright office for at least five (5) years
    • Holds current practicing certificate with no past or pending criminal or disciplinary record
    • Be conversant with international and regional copyright instruments;
    • Additional Qualification in management or leadership would be an added advantage.

    • Ability to formulate, interpret and implement policies
    • Planning and coordination;
    • Strategy formulation and implementation;
    • Basic knowledge on mediation, negotiation conciliation and financial management
