    Strategy & Marketing Analyst

    The Group Strategy & Marketing Analyst will work closely with subsidiary sales and marketing functions to strategically drive and support new initiatives that aim to grow presence of the company in new and transformative ways in the market. The jobholder will be called upon to travel regularly within East Africa to meet growing business demands.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Pulling data from a variety of internal databases to support team hypotheses. Clearly illustrating results of data in charts, tables and other forms of graphical representation.
    • Developing business cases for strategy related projects and investments, with input from management and team members.
    • Communicating recommendations to business leaders, team and project managers in the respective subsidiaries. Contributing to cross-functional team discussions.
    • Building strong relationships across various subsidiary structures to ensure needs are addressed and information sharing is done in a timely manner.
    • Assist in creating and developing structured presentations which detail project scope, opportunity sizing, analyses and recommendations.
    • Identifying, analysing, and communicating trends and issues affecting the business.
    • Performing industry research to highlight opportunities within the lending business or identify promising new opportunities.
    • Managing individual workload for assigned portion of projects, meeting expectations for quality and timeliness.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree from a recognized institution
    • At least 3 -5 years’ experience in a similar position
    • Passport holder
    Must be able to travel to Uganda/Tanzania without supervision with short notice
    • Offer coaching and training of junior members of subsidiary teams on an ongoing basis
    • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in MS packages – Word, PowerPoint & Excel. Other system use will be a plus
    • Adapt quickly on projects as and when needed
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
    • Work accurately with a sense of urgency, and deliver under tight deadlines/time frames with occasional long days

    Head of Software Development

    The Head Software Developer is a critical position in our clients continued growth in a period that will see their revolutionary platform accelerate from hundreds of users to millions across East Africa. As the lead engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the cutting edge infrastructure while liaising directly with leadership on the companies overarching software strategy.

    Responsibilities
    • Designing frameworks for a wide range of frontend and backend features based on input from observations of operations, management requests, or specific hardware integrations
    • Implement, debug, and optimize major systems in the context of a cross-platform code base
    • Spearhead development of innovative solutions to optimize user experience, distribution, inventory, tracking, and telemetry
    • Contribute significantly to system architecture, technical designs, and postmortems
    • Perform data and code analysis to identify improvement opportunities
    • Provide management and guidance to sub-contractors, lesser experienced team members, and new hires

    Skill Set
    • Working knowledge of programming: Java/Javascript, HTML/CSS
    • Familiar with AngularJS
    • Working knowledge of Relational and Non-Relational databases: MySQL/MongoDb/Firebase
    • Familiar with web services and REST API’s
    • An understanding of server and back-end architecture
    • Ability to learn and implement new technologies and processes quickly and seamlessly

    Nice to have:
    • Firmware and IoT experience: Arduino, Raspberry, Particle IO
    • Mobile app development experience: native or hybrid
    • Cloud based app development experience
    • Working experience with a range of programming languages: TypeScript, C/C++, Python, PHP, Ruby or others.
    • Server/database maintenance and administration including permissions and security protocol.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS/MS Computer Science or similar with 2+ years professional experience
    • Ability to translate user needs into tech requirements
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and relentless drive to see a job done well
    • Attention to detail with creative problem-solving approaches
    • Independent and communicative
    • Well organized and team oriented
