    Head of Product Development & Marketing

    Job description

    To develop and manage the Asset and Deposit products to ensure the achievement of the Retail Banking strategic goals, and also manage the Corporate marketing and communication strategy, brand management, public relations, and advertising to fulfil the Bank’s communications requirements and enhance its brand image.

    Lead the creation, development and implementation of the product marketing and sales plans / strategies for retail products for achieving the retail banking strategy in a timely and effective manner

    Ensure the continued success of the full range of bank’s consumer Asset and Deposit products and services in terms of achievement of sales targets.

    Ensure the achievement of profitability objectives by ensuring product profitability performance is as per plans through identification and implementation of revenue generation and cost reduction opportunities.

    Lead the development from conceptualization till launch of new products and services designed to deliver superior value for customers and profitability for the Bank while ensuring strict adherence to Sharia principles and guidelines.

    Monitor and manage the customer satisfaction with regard to products and ensure delivery of value added products and services.

    Ensure efficient use of the marketing budgets for achieving the goals in a cost efficient manner.

    Manage the creation and implementation of strategies to achieve higher levels of cross sell for greater share of wallet of the bank’s customer base.

    As Brand Custodian, lead and manage the Marketing Communications and Services team to maintain the ethos and consistency of brand communication with a view to enhance Corporate Identity

    Manage bank’s overall brand reputation amongst key stakeholders, including customers, public, industry, corporate, government, shareholders, investors, analysts, media etc.

    Build and enhance awareness, equity, perception and competitive advantage for the bank and its products

    Prepare guidelines and manage all communication elements for the bank including advertising, marketing materials, website, merchandising, and branding

    Foster a “Team Spirit” and infuse a “high motivation level” amongst the entire team by analyzing the training & development needs of staff and nominating them for appropriate training to close skill gaps and increase productivity. 

    Required Background:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
    • 10 -12 years’ experience in marketing and product development practices in a Bank or in well-established financial institution out of that at least 3 years on a Senior Management Capacity.

    Manager - Compliance

    Job description

    To assist in managing Compliance functions consisting of Regulatory Compliance, AML/ Due Diligence, and Training Compliance controls in accordance with the framework, regulatory & policy requirements so as to enable the Bank to manage the Compliance Risks

    Develop and or establish Compliance framework comprising of Charter, Policies & Procedures.

    Establish a risk based Compliance Program to identify, measure and assess Compliance risks in Products, activities & processes of the Bank in accordance with the Compliance framework

    Ensure adequacy, effectiveness & efficiency of Group Compliance functions & Compliance Controls ( i.e., regulatory Compliance, Financial Security, Market abuse, Suitability, Deontology, Conflict of Interest etc) in accordance with regulatory & policy requirements.

    Cause to increase Compliance knowledge of the organization through training and awareness programs

    Review the investigations on “Red flags”, escalate suspicious, dubious & or fraudulent names/accounts &/or transactions and report it to senior management & Board Audit Committee.

    Report material findings, anomalies & recommendations pertaining to Regulatory & or financial crime related issues to senior management and Board Members.

    Have oversight of all compliance monitoring activities

    Effectively function as Money laundering Reporting Officer & liaise with Regulator for regulatory instructions, advises and communication for compliance purposes.

    Provide guidance & advice to relevant functions within DIB Group towards strengthening regulatory compliance and mitigating Compliance risks.

    Ensure participation in relevant committees, reviews and preliminary investigations to consider & highlight Compliance issues/ risks and make recommendations for enhancing compliance controls.

    Procure tools & systems as required, for carrying out Compliance functions and specifically financial Security functions (including monitoring and data mining tools for review of transactions).

    Required Background:

    • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business or Accounting.
    • 6 -8 years’ experience in Risk & Control professions, i.e., Audit, Compliance etc.

    Head of Legal

    Job description

    To develop and implement effective Legal Department Strategy, policies manual and Framework to ensure the bank achieve its business plans while adhering to country rules & regulations.

    Liaison between the Bank and Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). Coordinate all corporate activities and events of the Bank

    Develop and implement Legal Department strategy as well Corporate Secretary Charter & framework.

    Build Policies & Procedures for safeguarding the bank interest.

    Conduct review of all financing proposal and suggest best possible legal structure and documentation for deal transactions. Draft and review contracts, agreements, powers of attorney and all other legal documents before presenting to the financing committee.

    Provide legal support and service to all business and support units.

    Regularly update the management with regard to the status of the legal issues being handled and properly liaise towards delivering a comprehensive regular Control Sheet.

    Liaise as required with external lawyers and assist in the preparation of the required documentation of cases and regularly update the litigation report.

    Monitoring and follow up of Kenyan legislation as well as advising the bank on the impact of newly enacted legislation on DIB Kenya overall activities.

    Work with the respective departments / Units concerned in product development and create all legal documents of the bank including contracts, agreement, forms etc.

    Monitoring the drafting of Memoranda and Pleadings.

    Attend Board of Directors meetings and record minutes.

    Ensure timely lodgement of all returns that are required to be filed at the office of the registrar every year.

    Ensuring the security of the company’s legal documents, including but not limited to, the Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum and Articles of Association, Company Seal etc

    Coordinate preparation of Annual Reports.

    Coordinate Corporate actions and CSR activities.

    Coordinate activities related to the media and stakeholders.

    Ensure the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are well defined and understood.

    Ensure adequate and relevant training to all team members.

    Ensure proper Business continuity and succession plans are in place for smooth functioning of area under supervision.

    Required Background:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Should be a certified member of the institute of certified Public Secretary of Kenya (ICPSK)
    • 10 -12 years’ experience in the legal Department of a Bank or in well-established and recognized financial institution out of that atleast 3 years on a Senior Management Capacity.

    Product Manager - Asset

    Job description

    To assist in developing product strategies and subsequently managing & executing the operations of consumer asset products management function to ensure the attainment of Retail Banking strategic goals

    Propose, ensure execution, and monitor results of product strategy to ensure comprehensive achievement of strategic goals

    Plan, coordinate delivery, and monitor achievement of the product profitability targets

    Develop and organize seamless execution of new product propositions, processes, and systems

    Coordinate approval and maintain record thereof of customer transaction documents by Sharia Supervisory Board and Legal Department to ensure compliance with Sharia and legal guidelines.

    Identify and implement revenue generation and cost reduction opportunities to enhance product profitability

    Develop effective and value driven incentive plans for sales staff to optimize the channel productivity.

    Ensure timely and effective roll out of marketing communications and promotions to both counter and leverage implications of acquisition seasonality and competitor initiatives

    Coordinate the resolution of process breakdown and policy interpretation related customer issues across all functions to ensure delivery of a seamless product proposition to customers

    Develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with vendors to ensure delivery of consistently high levels of service to customers

    Monitor competitor activity and implement effective actions to counter them to ensure achievement of Asset Products strategic goals

    Anticipate and recognize business opportunities or problems, develop respective action plan, coordinate its effective implementation to ensure achievement of Wealth Products strategic goals

    Required Background:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
    • 6 -8 years’ experience in product development area of asset product in a Bank or in well-established financial institution.
