    Rose Senior Supervisor

    Responsibilities for the Rose Senior Supervisor Job

    Labour Management

    • Responsible in recruiting new staff.
    • Take an active role in training and assessment of staff.
    • Take an active role in staff motivation, creating a conducive work environment and actively participating in conflict resolution.
    • Collaborating with managers, team leaders and staff in work planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluating and follow up of set targets.
    • Take an active role in staff appraisals in fair and transparent manner.

    Crop Management

    • Ensure that appropriate crop husbandry practices are efficiently carried out and within set timeframe
    • Ensure cut point rules are strictly followed and adhered to.
    • Organizing planting and taking care of young crop.
    • Ensure irrigation is proper and the systems are functional as per set program.
    • Monitor growth habit of the crop in various weather situations and report any abnormalities.

    Quality Management and Production

    • Ensure 5 harvesting commandments is followed and adhered to handling proper netting and minimal damages.

    Hygiene

    Pest and Diseases Reporting

    • Do crop walk in liaison with scouts and report to management of any pest or disease for appropriate action
    • In case of any pest or disease, report the action taken following the SOPs in place.

    Health and Safety

    • Ensure safe working environment by making sure health and safety regulations are followed and adhered to.
    • Also report any worn out or torn PPEs for repairs or to management for replacement.
    • Reporting on any damages to the green house, to maintenance team or to management for repairs. Ensure all working tools are in good working condition and are repaired in time.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate manager or senior management.

    Sales Officer

    The Sales Officer reports directly to the Sales Manager and in her absence to the General Manager for Flowers or the directors. Laterally interacts with other Sales Officers, Pack house team, Manager and fellow employees in the Sales department and the company generally.

    Responsibilities for the Sales Officer Job

    • Sales General
    • To sell flowers to the clients’ of both Simba and Chui production as per the set portfolio and ensure all documents related to shipment for clients are implemented in time, forwarded to the shipping agents and received by the client
    • Selling the harvested flowers within less than four days in stock and produce the necessary shipping documentation, no flight missed, no document left behind.
    • Maintain optimum communication and relation with clients
    • Promote new product, commercial trials and develop sales volume in stems, prices and turnover.
    • Ensure you achieve budget turnover and stem price
    • Ensure no claim from clients.
    • Attend weekly sales meetings and inform clients of flower flashes.
    • Daily basis work
    • Confirm the clients’ orders to them by email latest 2 days before the shipment date.
    • All orders must be put in Roses Manager and a final verification done before sending them to the farm.
    • Make sure all prices are updated as per the season and clients.
    • Every day the Sales Manager is doing the daily plan. Print the report, highlight the availability and send them to the clients as per your portfolios.
    • If the Sales Manager is not in the office you will prepare the daily plan for both farms.
    • When the plan are done and sent to the farm, you will prepare availability and send it to your clients as per your portfolio. Price offer and other discount will be decided by the Sale Manager.
    • Inform PH Manager using Roses Manager of necessary rebunching, priority grading, downsizing, down grading and bouquet preparation.
    • Inform the PH Manager of treatment necessary for the specific packing list such as devitalization.
    • Ensure box label are printed as per client specification.
    • When shipment is closed prepares the packing list, commercial invoice and other documents as per standard and make sure the documents are approves by the Sales Manager on daily basis.
    • Ensure all the documents are emailed to the clients the day of the shipment date.
    • Ensure the trucks are leaving the farm on time. In the evening don’t leave the office before the truck is out of the farm.
    • Send to clients the shipping agent flight confirmation and inform as soon as aware the clients of any delays,
      cancellation of flights verbally and in writing. Take necessary actions with clients and shipping agents in case of
      offload for using alternative flights.
    • Follow up shipment reception by clients and process any claim received within 48hrs. The Sales Manager will be the one accepting claim and issuing credit note. The directors will then approve the credit note.
    • Ensure the pack house is sending all needed report for masterplan and other purpose (stock per age, daily report, rejection, prediction…).
    • Prepare the tentative plan for the following day. This need to be send to the pack house by 3.00pm.
    • Follow up twice a week client’s portfolio payment and receive debtor’s weekly report. In case of a problem, inform the Sales Manager and Directors, only ship flowers if payment is up to date.
    • In the absence of the other Sales Officer take over her/his portfolio and operations and ensure you manage them effectively.
    • Follow up with the pack house to make sure pack out is always above 95%. In case it’s lower investigate and report it to the Sales Manager and Director.
    • Attend fair to promote the company products and find new markets.
    • Any other duties assigned to the holder by the management from time to time.

    Qualifications for the Sales Officer Job

    • Diploma in marketing and sales
    • Experience on similar post
    • Dynamic, motivated, available
    • Diploma in marketing/sales
    • Experience in similar post (minimum 3-5 years). Previous experience in roses industry is a MUST
    • Strong communication, presentation and sales skills
    • Experience in carrying our market researches and developing analysis, papers, surveys and reports

    Production Manager

    Reporting To : FARM GENERAL MANAGER

    Responsibilities for the Production Manager Job

    Staff

    • To recruit staff and allocate them to the various teams.
    • To ensure that the field managers working in the section allocate daily work targets to staff and record performance of all team members
    • To ensure that all labour in the section is effective and efficient and that all staff achieve the recommended daily tasks.
    • To maintain staff discipline and welfare in accordance with the company policy.

    Planning

    • To plan all the farm/section operations for the month, week, and day in consultation with the farm manager.
    • To ensure that all crop husbandries i.e. land preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation and spraying etc. are done to the highest possible standard.
    • To confirm all picking predictions done by picking supervisors. To ensure that produce is picked on time, handled carefully and is of high quality in accordance with the set standards.
    • To co-ordinate produce shading and transport to the pack house.
    • To communicate with farms daily and make regular visit to confirm quality issues.

    Audits / Standards

    • To ensure the company field operations adhere to customer standards (as per audit guidelines).
    • Handle and address any deviation on standards (customer responses).

    Record Keeping

    • To ensure that various team leaders, scouts and supervisors keep accurate records of all operations carried out in their section.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the senior management.

    Qualifications for the Production Manager Job

    • Bachelor of Science in Horticulture / BSc Agriculture Resource Management.
    • Above 5 yrs. experience in a busy Agricultural Sector.
    • Team player, dynamic and a great communicator.

    QA Manager

    Responsibilities for the QA Manager Job

    System Implementation and Documentations

    • Maintaining a high level of hygiene within and around the facility.
    • Ensuring that the laid down Quality management systems is adhered to at all times during the production process to ensure the product conforms in terms of quality, safety and Legality.
    • Implementing the various customer/supermarket and BRC standards and participating in audits and customer visits and be able to help in preparations for the audits/visits.
    • Ensuring that the due diligence documents / records in use are current, latest version and completed in a timely manner.
    • Management of pest control with the contracted pest control service provider

    Staff/Training

    • Heading a team of well trained and competent quality controllers who are motivated with an aim of ensuring that product quality, safety and legality is consistently achieved.
    • Scheduling meetings with the relevant departments within the site to keep all updated on new
      legislation, new standards, and customer requirements as necessary.
    • Prime online trainer of staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of standards, specifications, job requirements and use of equipment within the quality department.
    • Conducting routine refresher trainings to ensure continuous improvement/competency
    • Liaising with the QA Manager on QA staffing.

    Product Quality and customer complaints:

    • Liaising with the intake to ensure incoming raw materials conform to the raw material specifications.
    • Ensuring that the production process yield products that consistently satisfy the stated customer quality attributes
    • Customer complaint: Receiving, investigating and reporting back on all customer complaints with an aim of getting to the root cause and preventing reoccurrence. All customer complaints to be logged and trended
    • Participating in New Product Development and looking at new concepts that can be developed with the market changes.

    Equipment:

    • Planned preventative maintenance of equipment/facility and control of foreign body risks.

    Qualifications for the QA Manager Job

    • Degree in the relevant field
    • Experience in fresh produce / Food industry for at least 5 years
    • Team player, dynamic and great communicator
