    Human Resource & Administrative Assistant

    RE: HRAA/07/2017 

    Reporting to the Head of HR & Administration, the position will provide day to day Human Resource and administrative support activities to ensure delivery of services within the KMT offices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the implementation of KMT’s HR and Operations policies.
    • Actively take part in the employee resourcing function from selection and recruitment to placement.
    • Coordinate the organization induction programme for all new employees.
    • Update and maintain electronic and physical employee records in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Facilitate leave management for all staff including monitoring and updating leave records on an ongoing basis.
    • Ensure efficient administration of medical and pension scheme and follow up on staff claims.
    • Coordinate the logistics of internal meetings, office events and trainings.
    • Support in preparation of HR & Administration reports.
    • Support in management of office petty cash.
    • Coordinate organization flight and accommodation bookings as per requests.
    • In liaison with the Administration Officer, replenish the office consumables in a timely manner.

    Key Qualifications:

    • A degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
    • At least 3 years relevant working experience in Human Resource or Office Management.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good organization and record keeping skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Computer packages (MS Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to uphold high ethical and professional standards and maintain highest levels of confidentiality.

    Communication Specialist

    RE: CS/08/2017 

    Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communication, the position will provide professional technical communication services to support the KMT’s activities. He/she will also support implementation of KMT’s Corporate Communication strategy and coordination of events.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support development and implementation of KMT’s Communication strategy.
    • Manage KMT’s internal and external communication in line with established organization standards.
    • Assist in production and editing of information and communication materials e.g. brochures, fact sheets, newsletter and documentaries and their dissemination.
    • Ensure that all final documents are of high quality and adhere to KMT’s Style and Citation Standards/Guidelines.
    • Develop a database of key local and international contacts, distribution lists for various reports, bulletins, and other documentation.
    • Manage the organization website and social media accounts i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin etc. ensuring that they are up to date and share with relevant staff any queries        and suggestions from the ‘online community’.
    • Manage timely production and distribution of KMT’s newsletter on a monthly basis.
    • Responsible for media management ensuring high quality media coverage of KMT activities.
    • Support and coordinate organization events.

    Key Qualifications:

    • A degree in communication, journalism, public relations or equivalent qualifications.
    • At least 4 years working experience, with demonstrated working exposure in the communication field.
    • Demonstrated competencies in development of products such as communication materials, documentation and publication (including web-based documentation) in                    programme implementation.
    • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with media representatives, government officials, NGOs, community groups and other partners.
    • Knowledge of computer systems and applications, especially those related to interactive digital media.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties.
    • Ability to use communication tools and equipment such as pictures, video footage, writing and editing skills.

    Head Of Monitoring, Research & Evaluation

    RE: HMRE/08/2017 

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position will provide technical leadership and strategic direction in the implementation of Kenya Markets Trust’s (KMT’s) monitoring, research and evaluation practices. The position will oversee KMT’s Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks, plans, indicators and performance results and document and disseminate program successes to the funders and stakeholders. The position will ensure that KMT acquires, optimizes, documents and shares knowledge and information that is required to influence policy to drive its operations and effectively execute its market transformation agenda. The role is also responsible for ensuring that climate considerations influence intervention designs in line with funder specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement a monitoring, evaluation and research strategy for the organization.
    • Develop annual Monitoring & Evaluation work plans that link up to and support the delivery of KMT wide goals.
    • Lead results reporting to the funders by ensuring the generation of the relevant, quality reports for both internal and external audiences.
    • Lead the policy and research team in developing a coherent and coordinated policy and research framework that supports KMT’s sector activities.
    • Develop and apply standards and mechanisms to ensure overall technical quality of evidence-related activities including: project planning, performance monitoring plans, assessment, evaluation and research.
    • Design and implement knowledge management systems that enable effective data capture, sharing amongst stakeholders to inform decisions on multi-sectoral policies, programmes and interventions.
    • Provide written documentation on M&E activities and results for progress and annual reports.
    • Capture, re-purpose and disburse relevant lessons and ideas for dissemination within KMT and to broader audiences.
    • Develop benchmarking frameworks for all key areas of KMT’s performance so that variances are identified and action plans put in place to address them.
    • Ensure integration of climate considerations in all KMT interventions.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation or a relevant discipline.
    • At least 8 years’ relevant working experience in monitoring, evaluation and research, 3 years of which should have been in a senior level. M4P knowledge will be an added         advantage.
    • Extensive experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research findings.
    • Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills.
    • Proven experience in research/study design and implementation including design and data analysis.
    • Strong relationship management skills and capacity to influence at multiple levels across large, medium and small businesses, national and county governments and the           donor/funding community.
    • An experienced researcher with sound knowledge of supply chain/value chain management.
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with International funders’ monitoring and evaluation requirements.

    Head Of Fundraising And Communication

    RE: HFC/08/2017 

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the position will be responsible for expanding and diversifying KMT’s funding and donor portfolio. Responsible for developing fundraising and communication strategies, work plans and execution modalities and implementing the plans so as to achieve fundraising targets. Responsible for ensuring that KMT clarifies its communication agenda then develops and shares messages that further that agenda.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement KMT fundraising/resource mobilization and communication strategies in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer.
    • Identify potential funding partners and develop action plans aimed at engaging them and bringing them to the funding table.
    • Keep current and potential funders positively engaged and informed of KMT’s initiatives, activities and achievements.
    • Actively identify grant opportunities and develop grant proposals in line with agreed organizational procedures and in close coordination with Sector teams and other relevant     departments and units.
    • Provide the technical lead in the development and packaging of grant proposals in line with the different donor requirements.
    • Oversee development of the communication and marketing strategy and its implementation, to support all fundraising efforts and partnerships.
    • Ensure that the KMT website and social media are regularly updated and that all published material meets the KMT’s standards.
    • Provide leadership to ensure effective linkages and cooperation between Fundraising and Communication and other KMT functions to ensure that KMT is always presented in a favourable light to stakeholders.
    • Provide advisory support on emerging fundraising and communication issues.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Business, Communication, Business Management, Marketing, Strategy development or another relevant discipline.
    • At least 8 years’ relevant work experience, 3 years of which should have been gained at a senior level in resource mobilization or fundraising.
    • Strong relationship management skills and capacity to influence at multiple levels across national and county governments, donor/funding community, foundations and other      partners.
    • A strategic, curious, flexible, adaptable and lateral thinker.
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of fundraising and a good understanding of the international development arena.
    • Demonstrate a track record of writing winning project proposals and obtaining grant funding for development projects from donors.
    • Experience in identifying and developing fund raising opportunities.
