    Theatre Technician

    • Maintain and keep all surgical tools sterilized and orderly: it is the responsibility of the theatre technician to ensure that all tool used during an operation are sterilized, cleaned and neatly arranged for the next procedure. This includes tools used in theatre and dental.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the surgical tool and ensure they are functioning and incase otherwise report the matter to the Chief Nurse for necessary actions.
    • Prepare surgical instrument and equipment for autoclaving/sterilization per protocol.
    • To ensure that before and after surgery, theatre is washed and disinfected.
    • Prepare patients for surgery
    • Takes care of any specimens obtained for testing following laboratory procedures/protocol

    Requirements for the Theatre Technician Job

    • Certificate in theatre
    • Minimum of two years relevant experience
    • Excellent communication skills

    Diagnostic Radiographer

    • Assess patients and their clinical requirements to work out which radiographic techniques to use;
    • Perform a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;
    • Produce reports so that the correct treatment can be given;
    • Take responsibility for radiation safety in your work area, including checking equipment for malfunctions and errors;
    • Manage referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible;
    • Supervise visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas;
    • Help in more complex radiological examinations, working with doctors such as radiologists and surgeons;
    • Provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs;
    • Supervise radiography and imaging support assistants;
    • Keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.

    Qualifications for the Diagnostic Radiographer Job

    • Diploma (Higher Diploma) in Medical Imaging Sciences from recognized and registered Medical Institution.
    • Must be registered and licensed by the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
    • 2 years working experience in a busy medical institution.
    • Excellent knowledge of techniques in general and specialized Radio diagnostics, Computed tomography (CT) and Fluoroscopy.
    • Excellent computer skills in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Good public relations and communication skills.
    • Knowledge in CR (Computerized Radiography), Mammography and Ultrasonography is an added advantage.

    Medical Officer

    • Overall responsibility for daily clinical assessment and prescription of treatment for all patients attending the hospital.
    • Organize with the medical team weekly work and day off schedule
    • Identify and coordinate referral of patients for further management.
    • Ensure proper documentation of patient notes.
    • Improve patient records in line with the reporting system.
    • Admit patients to the wards when necessary.
    • Carry out surgical procedures at the hospital
    • Attend to emergencies in the ward
    • Develop clinical protocols and procedures in line with the current SOPs.
    • Training of staff on job and theory sessions
    • Provide health talks to staff and patients
    • Advise the management and board on clinical requirements
    • Represent the hospital and liaise with local and national authorities, donor agencies to promotes the hospitals programs
    • Pro-actively source for medical supplies and supplies in collaboration with hospital Director.
    • Overall supervision of the running of the laboratory, pharmacy, medical stores, X-ray, Dental, Eye, Physiotherapy, TB , CCC and medical records Units
    • Ensure students and interns on attachment are appropriately placed within medical department and appropriately supervised.
    • Coordinating and administering relevant and timely continuous medical updates to other staff.
    • Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital
    • Carry out other relevant duties as may be assigned by management.

    A leading Mission Hospital in Muranga County is seeking to recruit a Nurse Manager on a 3 years’ renewable contract. The post holder will play a leadership and managerial role.

    Nurse Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership for all nursing staff.
    • Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
    • Ensure key performance indicators (KPI) are achieved against set targets.
    • Build effective controls for the monitoring and management of medical records.
    • Lead the Unit in complying with all statutory and quality standards.
    • Routinely monitor staff performance according to their job description and provide written feedback in a timely manner.
    • Manage leave and duty rosters of staff working in the hospital to ensure adequate coverage of the hospital, including nights and weekends.
    • Handle all disciplinary issues as they arise with support of the HMT.

    Qualifications for the Nurse Manager Job

    • A born again Christian
    • A Kenyan citizen with at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
    • A Diploma or degree in Nursing.
    • Applicants must be in possession of a valid License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Applicants will also be required to produce certificates of good conduct and clearance from the EACC.
