    Training Coordinator

    The proposed consultancy is required to support the creation and timely delivery of the initiatives promised as part of the Executive Director’s response to recent Global Staff Surveys. In addition, the support of the consultant is needed to contribute to the strengthening of UN Environment’s HR Strategic portfolio by creating learning initiatives, training opportunities and job support aids.

    Objective: The objective of the proposed consultancy is:

      • Contributes to developing UN Environment’s overall training strategy
      • Contributes to the development of UN Environment’s Gender Parity Strategy
      • Manage meeting of strategic training portfolio
      • Contribute to development/delivery of training courses
      • Develop bi-monthly progress reports
      • Contributes to UN Environment’s Global Staff Survey deliverables
      • Staff development and career support
      • Assesses training needs, identifies, customizes where needed and delivers training programs to staff at all levels throughout the organization.

    Functional Responsibilities

    • Gender Parity Strategy: Under the guidance of the Chief of Human Resources and Training Section and in accordance with UN Secretariat stipulations for each entity to develop a Gender Parity Strategy; consult with HR Officers and stakeholders, carry out desk research, develop outline and first draft of UN Environment Gender Parity; Consult stakeholders on first draft, input revisions and comments; and produce final copy.
    • Women’s Leadership Programme: Develop and plan new Women’s Leadership Programme aimed at providing a platform for the Organization’s compliance with the UN Gender Parity Strategy.
    • 360 Degree Feedback Tool: Engage key stakeholders and prepare framework for the development of a 360 Degree Feedback Tool.
    • HR Strategy: Plan and coordinate consultations on UN Environment draft Human Resources Strategy with Division front line managers.
    • HR Focal Points, ensuring all stakeholders views are represented; revise and finalize HR strategy.
    • Establish Skills Inventory:In accordance with response to Global Staff Survey deliverables, career development and organizational change imperatives, map the skill sets of Organization’s human capital as aligned to competencies and performance requirements to aid decision-making. Create survey and if necessary conduct interviews; research existing data and create inventory.
      • Ultimate result of services: Strategic Training initiatives will be well aligned with UN Environment’s strategic vision,key priorities, results-based management, organizational culture and performance values, resulting in a more cohesive and coordinated activities and actions, as well as more tangible and measurable return on investment (ROI) for organization.

    Education

      • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Human Resources, business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related area.
      • University Degree (Bachelor’s degree / first level) with a combination of 2 additional years of relevant professional experiencein Human Resources, business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related area may be accepted in lieu of a Masters degree.

    Experience

      • At least five years of experience in the field human resources management, with training emphasis, familiarity with Instructional Design principles, learning and development or related area is required.
      • Working knowledge of strategic Human Resources management, career development and talent management is highly desirable. Ability to apply various United Nations administrative rules and regulations in training and career development aspects is an added advantage.

    Languages

      • Fluency in English is required.

    Skills : in Training Needs Analysis, design and development of training programs and workshop facilitation are essential
