    Compliance Manager - Investor Services

    Department Description

    Reporting to Head, Investor Services, the Compliance Manager will oversee the Unit’s overall adherence to Legal and Regulatory requirements. The Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable policies, operational procedures, legal and regulatory requirements that govern the provision of Custody, Trustee Services and Facility Agency Services.

    Brief Description

    • Legal and Regulatory Compliance
      • Review industry rules and regulations, (CMA, RBA, CBK) circulars including practice notes and provide guidelines for operationalization in the business.
      • Review all contractual documents (Trustee Agreements, Custody Agreements, Trust Deeds, etc.) and Service Level Agreements with counterparties ( brokers, fund managers, administrators, CDSC) for completeness and ensure that the Bank’s interest is adequately covered and the documents properly executed by the parties.
      • Continuously monitor changes in the regulatory framework and ensure that the Bank’s Custody and Trustee Services contractual documents, policies and procedures are up to date and comply with those changes/ reviews.
      • Review industry regulations for new products and provide guidelines for operationalization in the business
      • Provide continuous training / engagement to the business team and other stakeholders on regulatory issues pertaining to the Custody & Trustee Services business
      • Maintain good business relationships with all industry regulators.
    • Operational Compliance
      • Monitor and ensure compliance with on-going licensee obligations, conduct obligations, record keeping and reporting obligations
      • Undertake compliance checks and make compliance reports to management (Checks on Trustee Services, CDA Services, Custody Services, and Facility Agency).
      • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements (CMA, RBA & CBK) within the stipulated timelines.
      • Conduct surprise checks to monitor and ensure adequate operational control standards are in place
      • Drive the integration of the regulatory changes into the Unit’s operational procedures.
      • Confirm annual AML compliance documentation is received and reviewed.
      • Monitor the Unit’s Risk Register and KRI’s.
      • Review and confirm that all risks (credit, market, legal and operational risks) affecting the business have been identified, assessed, and controlled.
      • Monitor and ensure timely lodgment of applications for renewal of Custody and Trustee Services business licenses and payment of regulatory levies.
      • Review all complaints lodged by clients and counterparties and recommend action to address the weaknesses in the internal systems that led to the action causing the complaint.
      • Ensure adequate and relevant business continuity plans are maintained and tested regularly.

    Detailed Description

    • University Degree preferably in Law or in a Business related field from a Recognized institution.
    • Professional qualification in ACCA / CPA (K) / CPS (K) / AKIB or MBA is an added advantage
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry with strong biases towards Capital Markets / Retirement Benefits Sector / Trustee Services & Facility Agency Services
    • 3 years’ experience in compliance monitoring & reporting obligations as per CMA, RBA & CBK regulatory requirements; 2 years' of which must be in a managerial role.
    • Good understanding of various Sectors, products & services within Corporate Banking, including the market trends & challenges.
    • An appreciation of Risk Management and knowledge of Internal Controls in Investor Services.
    • Team player with demonstrated work ethics; consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
    • Effective prioritization skills to meet a complex set of business demands and demonstrate delivery against multiple objectives.
    • Assertive, self-motivated with desire to succeed in a fast-paced financial services environment.

    Hardware Systems Engineer

    Department Description

    To ensure delivery of effective, high available, secure enterprise servers and storage infrastructure (Hardware Systems infrastructure) throughout the KCB business; as well as proper functioning of all technology infrastructure for Hardware systems (Server and Storage) across the business

    Responsible for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of a highly virtualized Wintel server environment and to ensure high levels of service satisfaction are maintained. Monitor functioning of server and storage infrastructure and make necessary modifications to ensure bank systems operates in conformance with specifications and increase efficiency in operation and provide advice on preferred Hardware Infrastructure Technologies.

    Brief Description

    evaluate, implement and support the high-end and mid-range IT Infrastructure in line with Bank’s vision and provisioning high available server infrastructure for the critical server systems. Ensuring infrastructure is available for business continuity and manage 24x7 Data Centre operations and high-end infrastructure SLAs.

    Detailed Description

    • Design, implement and support Enterprise private cloud Infrastructure up to and including the computing infrastructure and the platform and storage infrastructure
    • Management and support of Red Hat Enterprise virtualization for the bank’s core banking system
    • Design and implementation of hardware systems for both server and storage solutions to support business growth for new business outlets and systems
    • Conduct performance and capacity planning and develop budgets for hardware infrastructure requirements and future projections for business.
    • Deployment and support of BCM strategies with VMware Site Recovery Manager, EMC SRDF technologies and HP Service guard for the private cloud and core banking infrastructure
    • Design, evaluate and implement procedure and technical measures to enhance the security of Data Centre server and storage Infrastructure and the Virtualized Server infrastructure.
    • Keeping up- to- date infrastructure documentation, policies and procedural documents, disaster recovery plan and best practices that relate to hardware infrastructure.
    • Provide the technical support in the design of converged infrastructure hardware solutions to support the banks requirements and supervise the technical execution of the same.
    • Periodic review of the new technologies on IT hardware platforms in line with best industry approach to support business growth
    • Conduct contingency planning for potential IT hardware unavailability and back up strategies for the server and storage infrastructure to ensure business continuity.

    Job Requirements

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or ICT related
    • Professional Qualifications
    • The candidate should possess MUST posses one of the following IT certifications: -
    • VMware Certified Professional VCP6-DCV or VCP5-DCV
    • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator – RHCSA
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer – RHCE
    • The candidate must have at least 3-4 years working experience in a busy enterprise hardware infrastructure environment, supporting a mix of industry standard, mid-range server infrastructure. and high end enterprise storage solutions.
    • Should also possess good analytical and communications skills, with good customer service experience

    Additional Details

    IT Certification in either of the following is an added advantage:

    • CCNP
    • CCNA
    • ITIL
