    Electrician Instructor

    Job Description

    The Lamu County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per Sections 59 of the County Governments Act.

    EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: ELECTRICIAN INSTRUCTOR

    Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable

    REQUIREMENT

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Diploma in Electronics Engineering or Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering; 
    • Certificate in computer application from recognized institution;
    • Instructor training certificate from KTTC will be added advantage

    OR

    • Grade Test II in Electrical or Electronic from a recognized institution;
    • K.C.S.E Mean grade D (plain);
    • 3. 3 years' experience in Youth Polytechnic institutions.

    • K.C.S.E certificate level with two years' experience;

    • Have attended a Certificate course in ECDE, from a recognized institution;

    For appointment to this grade a Candidate must have:

    • Bachelor of. Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B) from a recognized University;
    • Registration certificate by the Kenya Medical Practitioners (KMP) & Dentists Board (DB) and have worked for a minimum of 3 years post - internship;
    • Demonstrate a good understanding of the county government’s mandate, health policies, vision, mission, as well as vision 2030;
    • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the national values and principles of Public Service and Governance as espoused in the constitution of Kenya 2010 article 10 and 232.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • An officer at this level will be answerable to Medical Specialists in their respective departments or the Medical Superintendent of a level 4 Hospital.
    • Ensure daily ward rounds;
    • Ensure twice weekly special clinics are done in respective departments;
    • Ensure theatre operations are done in respective departments;
    • Day to day running of the Clinical Departments;

    REQUIREMENTS

    For appointment to this grade a Candidate must have:

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B: Ch.B) degree from a recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Successfully completed one (1) year Internship from a recognized Institution;
    • Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board; and
    • Certificate in computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    An officer at this level will work under guidance of senior officer.

    • Diagnosing, caring and treating diseases;
    • Performing Medical and Surgical procedure;
    • Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters;
    • Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment;
    • Providing Health Education;
    • Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
    • Counselling patients and their relative on diagnoses and bereavement;
    • Teaching and coaching medical student, nursing students and clinical officer interns;
    • Preparing requisite documents for registration.
