    Hydrologist

    Responsibilities

    • Research on distribution, circulation and physical properties of ground and surfaces water
    • Measuring the properties of bodies of water, such as volume and stream flow
    • Collect water and soil samples to test for certain properties, such as the pH or pollution levels
    • Analyse data on the environmental impacts of pollution, erosion, drought, and other problems
    • Research on ways to minimize the negative impacts of erosion, sedimentation, or pollution on the environment
    • Use computer models to forecast future water supplies, the spread of pollution, floods, and other events
    • Evaluate the feasibility of water-related projects, domestic and irrigation systems, and wastewater treatment facilities
    • Prepare written reports and presentations of findings
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Job Requirements

    • Be a Kenyan citizen
    • Must have KCSE C+ and above or its equivalent.
    • Must have a degree in Hydrology, Engineering Hydrology, Meteorology, Water Resources and Environmental Management, Hydrogeology, or Water Resource Engineering from a recognized institution.
    • Knowledge in GPS or GIS

    Roles

    Roles

    • Planning , designing and overseeing construction of irrigation projects for transporting and distributing water to agricultural lands
    • Planning and designing irrigation fixtures and installation of fixtures to requirements and specifications.
    • Supervising construction of such irrigation systems as dams, canals, and ditches, according to type of soil, climatic characteristics, water supply, return flow, and other factors affecting irrigation requirements.

    Structural Assistant Engineer II

    Roles

    • Preparation of structural survey and civil works drawings including detailing of steel and concrete structures layouts and details of drainage schemes roads and paved areas
    • Production of bending schedules
    • In addition the officer will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer in preparation of scheme drawings and details pertaining to the design of sewerage disposal systems, paved areas and allied engineering structures
    • Taking off quantities for simple projects
    • Carry out elementary survey and levelling for civil engineering schemes.

    • Reading and interpretation of architectural and engineering drawings; comparing their details with work on site and compiling weekly reports and monitoring work progress.

    Job Requirements

    • Must have KCSE C (Plain) and above or its equivalent
    • Served in the grade of inspector (buildings) qualification for three (3) years or comparable equivalent position

    Stadium Caretaker

    Roles

    • An officer at this level will be responsible to the stadium manager for all operational aspects of stadium in the county and ensure safe and cost effective operation of all sports
    • Supervising sports facilities to ensure that premises are maintained to the required levels of cleanliness at all times.
    • Ensure that the sports facility complies with all legal relevant requirements
    • Undertaking of regular health and safety inspections /risks assessments

    Youth Officers

    This will be the entry and training grade for the Youth Development Officers’ cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a more senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will involve: collection, collation and submission of data on youth and health, gender mainstreaming, employment, drugs crime, leisure, recreation and community service; and participate in gender, special needs, employment and participation.
