    PMTCT Officer - NAISHI Project

    Job Description

    Overall Job Function

    Reporting to the Senior Program Officer, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning and implementation of PMTCT activities within CHS supported facilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing day-to-day technical support and supervision of the county PMTCT program as per the national guidelines
    • Assist with training of health care workers using the national PMTCT curriculum
    • Strengthen referrals and linkages between PMTCT activities and the CCC
    • Oversee follow-up care of PMTCT clients and HIV Exposed Infants in CHS supported facilities

    The HRIO is responsible for providing support to the health facilities in medical documentation, data management, data analysis and reporting

    Key responsibilities:

    • Documentation and reporting

    HIV Testing Services (Hts) Counsellors

    Job Description

    Overall Function:

    The HTS Counselor is responsible for providing HIV Testing Services to patients and clients seeking services in their respective health facilities using provider-initiated testing and counselling, voluntary counselling and testing, targeted family and partner testing/Partner notification services and other novel HTS approaches.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Create awareness and provide education about the existence of HIV testing services
    • Lead in the mobilization of clients for HTS
    • Provide pre/post-test HIV counselling ensuring that clients understand risk factors, prevention methods and other relevant issues
    • Provide confidential HIV testing to clients, as per national HTS guidelines

    Medical Laboratory Technologists

    Job Description

    Overall Function:

    The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for coordinating laboratory activities required for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services

    Key responsibilities:

    • Performs laboratory activities required for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs, including baseline and follow up laboratory investigations are carried out.
    • Conduct laboratory testing procedures as per the required SOPs
    • Correlating clinical information and/or previous lab results and report discrepancies to supervisors and other appropriate personnel.
    • Collecting and directing the collection of specimens with rigid attention to proper patient identification, priority status and hospital and laboratory and laboratory safety and infection control policies for clinical testing
    • Interprets test results and documents appropriately
    • Writing and updating laboratory procedures as required.
    • Set up, clean and maintain laboratory equipment, including carrying out daily temperature checks

    Registered Clinical Officer

    Job Description

    Overall Function:

    The Clinical Officer is responsible for providing HIV/TB and related treatment service at supported sites as a member of the clinical team. The Clinical Officer will ensure that optimal standard of care is achieved in line with National guidelines, client satisfaction and good clinical outcomes.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Management and coordination of HIV/TB Clinic activities
    • Assist and work together with other Clinic team members in support of all the CCC activities.
    • Ensure proper patient management of HIV/TB is done in line with National guidelines
    • Provide adherence counselling and implementation of clinical aspects of Positive Health Dignity and Prevention program (PHDP) to clients attending the clinic
    • Ensuring that the optimal standard of care is achieved by establishing and maintaining the use of nationally approved clinical guidelines and protocols and with the help of the care manager, updating ones’ knowledge of HIV/AIDs management using evidence-based practice
    • Counsel clients on compliance to treatment

    The Nutritionist is responsible for providing nutrition services in HIV/TB patient management, and MNCH clinics in supported health care facilities.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Promoting maternal infant and young child feeding programs

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Job Description

    Overall Function:

    The Pharmaceutical Technologist is responsible for the management of the pharmacy and related equipment, making sure that all required drugs are available and issued in the correct doses/ courses to the patients.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Ensure complete documentation of all pharmacy records and reporting tools
    • Verify prescriptions for accuracy and suitability to ensure rational dispensation and prescribing
    • Complete the expiry chart accurately and in a timely manner for proper monitoring of drugs

    Social Worker

    Job Description

    Overall Function:

    The Social worker shall support the planning, initiation and implementation of CHS Adherence Psychosocial Support minimum package in the CCC, PMTCT and TB clinics at the respective health facilities.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Support the coordination of psychosocial support activities targeting adults, adolescents, paediatrics, PMTCT mothers and discordant couples.
    • To support planning, implementation and evaluation of defaulter identification and tracking systems at the respective health facilities in the respective health facilities using the already approved tools.
    • Support the CCC in Charge in mentoring the Peer Educators and mentor mothers in Adherence Psychosocial support and Community activities.

    Assistant Finance Officer

    CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Assistant Finance Officer.

    Overall Job Function

    Reporting administratively to the Finance Manager and functionally to the Finance Department, this role will ensure proper recording of project expenditures in close cooperation with the Finance Manager.

    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for making payments via MPESA platform to field staff, workshop participants and movement of funds in Utility and M-Pesa platform
    • Preparing payment requisitions (invoicing in Navision system) and relevant documents and processing for payment

    Nurse

    Overall Function:

    The Nurse is responsible for providing HIV/TB and related treatment service at supported sites as a member of the clinical team. The nurse will also play an instrumental role in ensuring infection prevention practices are maintained and nursing services are optimal.
