    Deputy Principal - Boys School


    Job description

    Our client is looking for an exceptional individual to be part of their instructional leadership team. As Deputy Principal, you will play a critical role in realizing this aspiration by leading teacher coaching and development at this Boys school and co-leading on school culture together with the Principal.

    The job holder will help the Principal establish an extremely strong and vibrant school culture consistent with the schools core culture principles. However, the primary focus will be teacher development.

    Drawing on support from instructional leaders on the schools network team, you will create a professional development “machine” inside the school: deliberate practice routines and management habits that stretch teachers professionally and give them higher quality, more intensive coaching than they can get anywhere else.

    Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

    AMSCO is implementing, on behalf of a client, a flagship programme that seeks to create jobs and wealth through targeted skills development in the informal sector.

    We are looking for an M&E Officer, who will report to the Project Team Leader, and works closely with the Regional Team Leaders to ensure that the M&E framework/plan is in place, all project deliverables are tracked and reports submitted in time.

    • Developing project-level logical frame works, including choosing appropriate indicators and collaboratively setting targets with project teams;
    • Develop baseline data for the project and for all project indicators.
    • Contributing to the development of project-level research and M&E methodologies, including defining appropriate approaches, tools, fieldwork plans, sampling plans, budgets, resourcing plans, analysis plans, etc., as and when needed;
    • Contributing to the development of research and M&E tools, and taking the lead in organizing and promoting AMSCO’s tool library;
    • Develop data sharing protocol in consultation with the client
    • Provide training to the regional teams and whole project team on indicators and data collection.
    • Loading research and M&E tools into the shared project data collection platform;
    • Leading the quantitative and qualitative analysis of M&E data/ evidence, and drawing conclusions on project performance, quality, sustainability, etc.
    • Participate in quarterly project reviews and planning meetings and assist the Project Team Leader in preparing relevant reports;
    • Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS;
    • Providing regular feedback to project teams on project progress, and disseminate the results and lessons learned from the project;
    • Contributing to regular project learning sessions or monthly progress meetings;
    • Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
    • Perform other duties as required;

    Measurable Outputs and Performance Indicators:

    • Develop M&E frame work/ plan/ system for the project;
    • Prepare and maintain the project data base;
    • Preparation of the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports;
    • Organize and conduct training on M&E/MIS for project staff;
    • Assist Project Team Leader in the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learnt from project interventions;
    • Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the project;

     Qualifications

    • Minimum of five years professional experience in a similar M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of development projects
    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, social sciences, or related field. Master’s degree or Bachelor plus an advanced certificate in M&E, statistics, or social sciences preferred.
    • Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating project M&E systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
    • Experience designing and managing beneficiary monitoring and database systems.
    • Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
    • Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies.
    • Experience in planning and managing surveys.
    • Experience developing and refining data collection tools.
    • Experience with data quality assessments and oversight.
    • Experience managing and providing ongoing training to field officers.
    • Ability to facilitate and serve as a project liaison for externally-managed evaluations.

    Regional Team Leader

    AMSCO is implementing, on behalf of a client, a flagship programme that seeks to create jobs and wealth through targeted skills development in the informal sector. We are looking for Regional Team Leaders whose primary responsibility will be to oversee the project and supervise the day-to-day operations of their teams within the regions.

    The overall specific roles and responsibilities of regional team leaders are as follows:

    • Act as a chief BDS consulting officer for the entrepreneurs in the region
    • Mentor and supervise the Business Development Officers in the assigned region;
    • On a daily basis, liaise with the BDOs to receive updates and reports from the entrepreneurs and to share/coordinate them with the Project lead;
    • Communicate any constraint that the BDS project delivery might face in the respective region
    • Follow up on any concern or constraint that has been raised in the respective region;
    • Coordinate the delivery of up-to-date technical services provided by consultants to ensure best project implementation practices with the entrepreneurs;
    • Support the M&E officer in planning and ensuring regular and accurate monitoring and evaluation of the program;
    • Work to ensure that the program incorporates M&E results and lessons learnt from field operations to improve and to develop program implementation strategies, methodologies, and results;
    • Work with the BDS Officers to establish possible backward and forward linkages for the targeted SMEs in the respective province;
    • Produce bimonthly reports for the project on the respective regions 
    • In conjunction with the Project Lead, address the concerns and constraints raised regarding access to finance and training requests;
    • If necessary, provide technical inputs on the project, particularly consulting, coaching and mentoring of the entrepreneurs;
    • Arrange, facilitate, or conduct exposure visits for the targeted entrepreneurs domestically
    • Undertake frequent travels within the assigned region
    • Coordinate the administrative issues of the region with the program support section;
    • Undertake any other assignment which falls under SME development component, as per guidance and direction of the Project Lead

    Experience and Skills

    • Experience of managing collaborative development projects with fixed deadlines
    • Track record of presenting to stakeholders, ability to understand their requirements and find pragmatic ways to meet their needs
    • Strong communications skills – verbal, written and presentation
    • An ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds
