    Nursing Officer I Neonatal Nurse

    Roles

    • Provision, Supervision and planning or nursing care in a hospital, Health Center and Dispensary;
    • Assess patient’s needs for nursing services;
    • Verify and maintain information relating to patient admissions;
    • Keep records of drugs and other supplies; and
    • Guide, supervise and counsel staff performing routing clinical duties.

    Job Qualifications

    • Be in possession of at least the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C with at least a C in Biology, English or Kiswahili and a C- (minus) in any other two (2) Science subjects; and
    • Have successfully completed a three (3) years pre-service training at Kenya Medical Training College or at any other recognized training institution and have been awarded the Kenya Registered Nurse, or Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse Certificate by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Be in possession of a valid practicing license
    • Higher Diploma in the specialized field

    Nutrition and Dietetic Technologist

    Role

    • Implementing nutrition programmes;
    • Providing nutrition services in health care facilities;
    • Conducting nutrition assessments;
    • Collecting and compiling nutrition data;
    • Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations;
    • Counseling of patients with specific nutritional needs;
    • Monitoring preparation of therapeutic feeds;
    • Implementing outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes;
    • Promoting maternal, infant and young children feeding programmes; and
    • Providing micronutrient supplementation.

    Job Qualifications

    • Be in possession of at least the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C with at least a C in Biology, English or Kiswahili and a C- in any other two (2) Science Subjects; and
    • Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution; and
    • Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND)

    Registered Nursing Officer

    Roles

    • Work at this level will be of limited scope and complexity and will be carried out under the guidance of a senior officer.
    • Provision, Supervision and planning or nursing care of patients at an outpatient department or wards in a hospital, Health Center and Dispensary;
    • Assess patients’ admission needs for nursing services;

    Clinical Officer (Ent Specialists)

    Roles

    • Management of Clinical Services in a Hospital or Health Center;
    • Seeing and examining patients and diagnosing and treating ailments;
    • Conducting primary health care activities;
    • Teaching, supervising and counselling students attached to hospital or health center;
    • Liaising with division heads on health services; and
    • Be deployed in specialized clinics.
    • Registered Clinical Officer I (Ent Specialists)

    Job Qualifications

    • Served for at least three (3) years in the grade of Clinical Officer II, Job Group ‘J’;
    • Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C with at least a C in Biology, English or Kiswahili and a C- in any other two (2) science subjects;
    • Have successfully completed at least 3 years pre-service training at Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized Medical Training Institution and have been awarded a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or its equivalent; and
    • Have been registered by the Clinical Officers Council and with a current practicing license.
    • A Higher Diploma in Health related services. Anesthesia, ENT, Pediatric, Ophthalmology.
    • Demonstrated competence and ability in organizing, performing and discharging clinical duties at that level;

    Clinical Officer

    Roles

    • The officer will normally work under the guidance of an experienced Clinical Officer or Medical Officer.
    • At this level work will involve seeing and examining patients;
    • Diagnosing and treating patients’ ailments at an outpatient department in a Hospital or Health Centre.
    • Assist in planning and conducting primary health care activities; and
    • Giving support and health education to patients.
    • Coaching students attached to hospitals and health centers
    • Supervising and counselling a small number of staff engaged on routine patient’s care.

    Job Qualifications

    • Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C with at least a C in Biology, English or Kiswahili and a C- in any other two (2) science subjects;
    • Have successfully completed at least 3 years pre-service training at Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized Medical Training Institution and have been awarded a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or its equivalent; and
    • Have been registered by the Clinical Officers Council and with a current practicing license.
