    Senior Talent Acquisition Officer - Nairobi

    Role Description

    Works closely with TA Officers to manage talent sourcing, interviewing and onboarding processes to meet business timeline and culture standards on hires. A successful person in this role will develop hiring methodologies, train their team and hiring managers on hiring superstars and shall also put in place measures and standards within which to achieve a great candidate and hiring managers experience.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to all duties listed below

    • Manage the Talent Acquisition team to achieve the Penda hiring goals of time, quality and experience of both candidates and hiring managers:Mentor your team of recruiters to grow them into pro-talent acquisition specialists, make a happy, satisfied and performing team.Drive team performance of the team by being a great manager to support them deliver the Penda hiring goals.
    • Structure hiring processes for each support office hire to address roles specific requirements and challenges specific to individual hires in order to achieve both technical and culture fit evaluations.
    • Innovate hiring approaches and train hiring teams on tools and methodologies:Develop hiring tools, methodologies and scale them across multiple hires within the businessOptimize the effective adoption of our hiring tools and methodologies, that they are understood, and their effective application is measurable.Identify learning needs from analyzing the success of the hiring process as well as analyzing.
    • Be a business partner to hiring managers to plan individual hires through supporting them to:Determine selection criteria and hiring decision structures for positions.Process applications within the specific role requirements as well as behavioral specifications.
    • Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs, using data to predict our hiring success with recommendations on specific hiring plans.
    • Continuously review or hiring processes and tools to make improvements aimed at impacting:Candidate experience by reviewing ur processes and communication plans to candidates and prospective applicants.Time t hire by identifying gaps, opportunities and collect data to help reduce the time it takes to hire.

    Requirements

    • 3 years in a recruiting, HR or people development role in a corporate or start-up environment.
    • Experience managing a team in recruiting for different professional levels, from senior managers to junior staff.
    • Ability to scout for talent, engage and identify culture indicators clearly and making data-backed hiring decisions.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple moving pieces in recruitment whilst proactively making improvements to our talent acquisition tools and processes.
    • Experience as an HR generalist and talent acquisition specialization is an advantage.

    Temporary HR Generalist - Maternity Cover - Nairobi

    Role Description

    We are bringing on an HR generalist to lead key HR buckets in our people's department. We have a strong talent acquisition team and a busy HR BP who is currently handling all of performance management and employee discipline issues, you will be relieving this role (4-6 months) as our current HRBP proceeds on maternity leave.

    Our key need from you is a great team spirit! Our HR team works together to create a great company culture, so you'd need to be dedicated to that in everything you do.

    In addition, you'd be handling our compensation and benefits strategy and administration, employee documentation and compliance, large meeting/office space/training space coordination, and best of all, our end of year party planning.

    To be successful in this role, you bring transparency and consistency to everything you do. You will be part caregiver and part enforcer, ensuring we have the right rules for our staff and that we make exceptions when needed. To enjoy this position, you'll need to be ready for the daily challenges of running a people department for a fast-growing highly innovative healthcare company with plans to work all over Africa.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with our managers in handling simple to complex people matters that may arise, whilst advising them and the business on any compliance and procedural requirements for our performance and disciplinary processes.
    • Empower our managers to be stronger HR managers for their teams and facilitate compliance to our values, company policies and employment law requirements.
    • Track, administer and update our compensation and benefits strategy. Think about what benefits would be best for a company of our size/stage and make them happen on our budget.
    • Develop strategies to make sure that staff are aware of the benefits available to them and taking full advantage of the programs available.
    • Ensure HR compliance with all staff documentation. This is extra complicated in our setting as it includes all of the licenses for our healthcare staff.
    • Coordinate internal training and recommend/track external training for staff to help them grow in their careers.
    • Help our Support Office staff be maximum productive in their work - this means everything from comfortable chairs, to great break room games, to ensure that the office space is being used efficiently.
    • Manage the admin and support office management team. This includes managing, inspiring, mentoring and even hiring where necessary.
    • Take on big and small projects that will help Penda achieve its vision of being the most trusted healthcare provider in Africa.

    • 3-5 years working in an HR department giving direction on core HR functions and decisions
    • Ability to lead HR decisions in a manner that enriches employee experience and our culture
