    Tactical Buying Specialist

    This role reports to the Tactical Buying & Catalogue Manager

    Context/Scope:

    Diageo is committed to seeking opportunities to create simplification across our organization to accelerate its Performance Ambition and drive out cost to invest in growth. External benchmarking on how we source, purchase from and pay suppliers has identified opportunities to transform the experience of our suppliers and employees and deliver savings to the business

    Source to Pay (STP) Transformation will create and implement a best in class Source to pay infrastructure for Diageo end to end, comprising new processes, creation of structured data & the implementation of a new E2E integrated global Purchasing tool (Coupa).

    The new process will align Procurement and PTP processes into one E2E Global Process and will see the creation of a new Tactical Team under the GDBS function. The Tactical Team will support the Procurement Teams and support the market requisitioners to buy/purchase from the right vendors and also ensure the correct structured data supports end users buying and our Procurement strategy.

    This role will be part of the new Procurement Tactical Shared Services Team and report into the Tactical Buying & Catalogue Manager.

    The Tactical Buying Specialist is a key element of the new shared service team. This role acts as the interface between business requisitioners (business requirements) and the Procurement community (who set purchasing strategy) ensuring Diageo buy from the right products from the right suppliers at the right price.

    This role will work closely with Global and market Procurement teams.

    Dimension:

    This role will work with global and market category managers and will interface with business users who purchase goods and services across the countries and market for which they have defined responsibility. These relationships may encompass people based in a variety of locations and across multiple cultures, languages and time-zones.

    This is an entry level role for the post allowing knowledge to be built. This role will vary from the L5 role as they will manage areas where most spend will be structured hence mostly driving compliance to existing webforms or routes (e.g. travel or advertising) or less complex spend (e.g. stationery).

    Leadership Responsibilities:

    This role is required to ensure compliance to the agreed STP processes and the Procurement policies for the categories they are responsible for.

    Top Accountabilities:

    • Responsible and accountable for the timely management of tactical purchasing requests from the business within the agreed SLA’s and KPI’s.
    • Providing advice and support to the business on the correct routes or sources of supply (via catalogues, webforms etc.).
    • Identifying opportunities for new catalogues or content and routing this to the STP Supplier & Catalogue Team.
    • Sourcing of non-strategic goods and services (spot buy).
    • Be the champion for their defined area of spend, including category and market / country, knowing the right sources of supply, the policies applicable and the compliance requirements as well as the external sources that can be contacted to meet the overall business requirement.

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Degree educated preferably in a business or Procurement related field.
    • Experience of Tactical purchasing, including processes, ways of working, documentation and compliance requirements etc. would be beneficial
    • Able to work proactively and effectively in cross functionaland global team at all levels in an organization.
    • Previous Procurement experience preferred.
    • Language and cultural skills for the markets supported.
