    Coordination Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support strategic planning and strengthen programmatic efforts:
    • Provide technical support to the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director on R-UNDG, Non-Residential Agency (NRA), Indian Ocean Countries (IOC) and Middle Income Countries (MIC) related work engagements;
    • Support the design and implementation of programmatic initiatives undertaken by the  Strategic Planning and Coordination unit with a focus on engagement in R-UNDG, NRA, IOCs and MIC engagements, including  the effective application of RBM approaches;
    • Support the development and finalization of UN Women  Annual Work Plans and Strategic Notes  through technical input/reviews and the facilitation of approval processes in line with the above focus;
    • Facilitate the timely preparation of background documents, briefs, presentations,  talking points, as required;
    • Provide substantive support in managing and ensuring timely response to incoming requests from different programmatic units, and when needed, to gather and systematize input received in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate the unit’s response in line with  a focus on R-UNDG and countries where there is no presence.
    • Provide effective UN coordination support (regional level and country-level work) and additionally, support other inter-agency initiatives of UN Women:
    • Support the Strategic Planning and Coordination Specialist in preparing briefing materials on request on issues to be discussed in the UN and other events and meetings; and follow up on required action/outstanding issues;
    • Support the unit’s monitoring of UN Women’s engagement in inter-agency processes and joint program at country level, to ensure that UN Women is effectively delivering on its  coordination mandate;
    • Support the provision of technical support by UN Women to non-resident countries to ensure that UN Women’s mandate is promoted in non-resident countries;
    • Support the unit in developing and executing initiatives to enhance UN Women’s coordination mandate including capacity development initiatives, within the framework of the regional UNDG and other inter-agency initiatives.
    • Strategic partnerships building and resource mobilization support:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of partnerships and partnership initiatives to achieve program outcomes;
    • Undertake analysis and research on donors, and provide technical input in the preparation of donor intelligence and briefs for UN Women offices.

    Deliverables:

    • Provide effective UN coordination support (regional level and country-level work) and additionally, support other inter-agency initiatives of UN Women:
    • Support the Strategic Planning and Coordination unit in preparing briefing materials for the Regional Director’s and Deputy Regional Director’s participation in the following meetings;
    • UNDG meetings;
    • MIC strategy;
    • R-UNDG, NRA and IOC engagements for Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director;
    • Other related meetings.
    • To technically support the follow up issues to be discussed in the UNDG and other events and meetings; and follow up on required action/outstanding issues.

    Strategic partnerships building and resource mobilization support:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of partnerships and partnership initiatives to achieve program outcomes- including in the regional offices’ engagement on a Business Philanthropy Network.
    • Develop other background documents, briefs, presentations, talking points, for the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director as required.

    Required Skills and Experience

    Education:
        Master’s degree or equivalent in development studies, Economics, Strategic Planning or other relevant field.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant experience at the national or international level working with development projects including hands-on experience in planning, coordination design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects in the field of gender and human rights of women;
    • Experience in coordinating high level senior office;
    • UN Experience in an added advantage.

    Language:
        Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of official national language essential.
